Sites With the Best Dallas Cowboys Odds
The Dallas Cowboys were one of the NFL’s more disappointing teams in 2024. Despite having one of the more talented rosters in football, Dallas stumbled to an 8-8 finish and missed the playoffs altogether. The underwhelming campaign ultimately cost longtime head coach Jason Garrett his job, and he was replaced by ex-Packers boss Mike McCarthy earlier this year.
The Cowboys haven’t won a Super Bowl in 25 years, but the team is still among the most popular the NFL has to offer. Forbes estimated last year that the Cowboys were worth $5 billion, which made them the most valuable franchise in the league by a sizable margin. The team has millions of fans all over the United States, which makes them quite the popular option among bettors as well.
Oddsmakers and bettors are both bullish on Dallas’ chances heading into the new season. The Cowboys currently have the fifth-best odds of any team to win Super Bowl 55 (+1600), while they’re minus-money favorites to take the NFC East title away from Philadelphia. At the time of this writing, the Cowboys and Dak Prescott are trying to come to terms on a long-term contract that would keep the former Mississippi State Bulldog in North Texas for the foreseeable future. Dallas struck gold when it landed Prescott with a fourth-round pick back in the 2016 draft. Dak took over before the ’16 season when Tony Romo was injured in the preseason, but he played so well that Romo didn’t have a job anymore once he returned to full strength. Romo eventually retired after that season to join the CBS broadcast booth.
Prescott reportedly wants to become the NFL’s highest-paid quarterback with his new deal. While most would agree he’s not the best QB in the game, there is a certain status that comes with being the starting quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys. Prescott has been woefully underpaid through his first several pro seasons as a result of his draft position, so who can blame him now that he finally wants to be paid what he’s worth?
While the team struggled last season, Prescott did not. Dak completed 65.1% of his throws for a career-high 4,902 yards with 30 touchdowns to 11 interceptions. He’s not as impactful on the ground as some of the game’s better running QBs, but there’s no doubting the impact on the game he can make in all facets.
Next season, Prescott will have no shortage of weapons. While the Cowboys may still rely heavily on Ezekiel Elliott and the ground game, Prescott will also have a top-tier receiving corps featuring Amari Cooper, Michael Gallup, and newcomer CeeDee Lamb. With so much talent at the skill positions, as well as one of the game’s more stout offensive lines, the Cowboys may well have the most potent offense in football in 2020.
Prescott still has room for improvement. But if he stays healthy, there is little reason to believe Dallas won’t be able to put points on the board in bunches next season. That has to be music to the ears of anyone wanting to bet on the Cowboys online.

Cowboys Ownership
Jerry Jones: (1989 – Present)
Jerry Jones bought the Dallas Cowboys for $140 million in 1989 and
immediately started cleaning house. He fired Tom Landry right away and brought
in Jimmy Johnson-his old college teammate at the University of Arkansas-from the
University of Miami. The roster was overhauled as well, with Jones’ aggressive
style paying dividends early.
The Cowboys became an elite team in 1990 and went on to win three Super Bowls
in the decade. That being said, since the ’90s, Jerry has been desperately
trying to build another winner without much success. However, 2024 might be his
best chance to return to the Super Bowl in decades.
Bum Bright: (1984 – 1989)
Bum Bright only owned the Cowboys for five years before selling the franchise
to the current owner, Jerry Jones. The wealthy businessman purchased the team in
1984 for $85 million but oversaw some of the least successful years in the
organization’s history.
He was continually talked out of firing Tom Landry by then-GM Tex Schramm.
Bright ultimately chose to sell the Cowboys to Jerry Jones, despite receiving
better offers, because he trusted that he’d make the needed changes and clean
house, which Bum didn’t have the heart to do.
Clint Murchison: (1960 – 1984)
Clint Murchison founded the Dallas Cowboys in 1960, thanks to some clever
maneuvering to obtain approval from the other NFL owners. After an attempt to
purchase the Washington Redskins soured his relationship with the franchise’s
owner, George Preston Marshall opposed any proposals for an expansion team in
Dallas.
However, when the Redskins’ band leader and Marshall had a falling out,
Murchison used the opportunity to purchase the rights “Hail to the Redskins,”
Washington’s fight song. At the vote to either approve or deny a new Dallas
franchise, the future Cowboys owner let it be known that the song would not be
allowed to be played at games. Of course, he’d sell the rights back to George
Marshall in exchange for a “yes” vote. Thus, the Dallas Cowboys were born, and
so was their rivalry with the Washington Redskins.

Team Logos
Cowboys’ Blue Star (1960 – Present)
The Dallas Cowboys are one of the few teams that have had the same logo for
the entirety of the franchise’s history. It’s a blue star meant to represent
Texas, “The Lone Star State.” The only change came in 1964, shortly after the
team’s founding, when the white line and blue border was added around the
perimeter of the star.
