The Pittsburgh Steelers are one of the NFL’s hallmark franchises, but 2024 was a season to forget. Offensive mainstays Antonio Brown and Le’Veon Bell both left prior to the beginning of the season, while QB Ben Roethlisberger went down with a season-ending elbow in just the second game. It was almost all downhill from there.
Mason Rudolph took over for Big Ben, and the results weren’t great. He was eventually benched in favor of Devlin “Duck” Hodges, who was even worse. Starting running back James Conner was limited to just 10 games due to injury, and Pittsburgh got very limited production out of his backups.
Pittsburgh still managed to finish in second place in the AFC North, but an 8-8 record certainly wasn’t what Steelers bettors had in mind at the beginning of the year. While a .500 showing isn’t terrible considering the adversity with which they dealt, bettors will hope for improvement this season.
Unfortunately, the Steelers happen to share a division with the Baltimore Ravens, who went 14-2 last season. The Ravens are once again listed among the odds-on favorites to win the Super Bowl, which makes Pittsburgh’s road to the playoffs a bit murky.
The Steelers’ +2500 odds to win Super Bowl 55 are on par with teams like the Vikings, Colts, and Patriots. However, Pittsburgh is also at just +350 to win their own division. Barring a massive decline from the Ravens, the Steelers are likely going to have to settle for a Wild Card berth if they’re to sneak into the playoffs. Steelers betting sites favor the Steelers to make the playoffs (-140), but not by much.

comfortable and enjoyable for our readers as possible. In addition to
introducing you to the top online sportsbooks, we’ve also compiled a wealth of
critical statistics and helpful information for winning your NFL bets.
The table in this section, for example, automatically pulls its values from
an external database, so it’s always sharing the most current numbers. At any

As the NFL season progresses, the data in this table will begin to paint a
clear picture concerning how teams are performing. It’s always a good idea to be
aware of an opponent’s wins and losses, but the way you compare their overall
record with a franchise’s success against the spread or totals lines is
essential. Those insights will play a key role in the decisions you make at your
top Pittsburgh Steelers betting sites.
For example, every season, there are teams with losing records who are still
profitable for bettors because they always cover the spread. They may be playing
competitive football but have just been unlucky to continually lose by narrow
margins.
A single change, maybe a player returning from injury or a trade, could be
enough to close that gap and start winning games. If you’ve been studying the
numbers, you may see the turnaround coming, helping you to profit on some upsets
at the top Pittsburgh Steelers betting sites.

Ben Roethlisberger led the NFL in passing yards (5,129) two years ago, but bettors backing the veteran to repeat his performance last season were forced to burn those betting slips after just two games. Big Ben failed to throw a touchdown pass before his season-ending elbow injury.
Obviously, the Steelers are hoping their longtime starter can get back to full strength after missing almost all of last year. Roethlisberger’s interception totals have steadily risen as his career has progressed, but the veteran still gives the team much more stability at the position than they were able to enjoy in 2024.
Roethlisberger has never won an MVP award in his career, despite having led the Steelers to a pair of Super Bowl titles over the years. Pittsburgh has been a pretty consistent presence in the AFC playoffs, but this year will mark a decade since the franchise’s most recent Super Bowl appearance.
Big Ben has one of the better offensive lines in football in front of him, but his skill position talent is questionable. Conner is coming off an injury-plagued season, and he’s also entering the final year of his contract. The Steelers felt comfortable trading Brown due in large part to the emergence of Juju Smith-Schuster, but the youngster struggled last season amid the team’s quarterback carousel.
Roethlisberger staying healthy should help Smith-Schuster bounce back from an underwhelming campaign. Pittsburgh added Eric Ebron at tight end, but the rest of the pass-catching group is largely unproven. Roethlisberger has almost always gotten the best out of the talent around him, but that trait will be put to the test in 2020.

Ownership
Art Rooney II: (2003 – Present)
Art Rooney II first joined the Steelers’ board of directors in 1989. Prior to
being named team president in 2003, Rooney filled other roles with the
organization, such as general counsel and vice president.
Art and his father Dan purchased his uncles’ shares in the franchise, giving
each of them a 30% ownership stake. When his father died, Art Rooney II became
the majority owner of the Steelers. Pittsburgh has won three AFC Championships
and two Super Bowls during the third-generation owner’s tenure.
Dan Rooney: (1988 – 2003)
The Pittsburgh Steelers experienced significant success during Dan Rooney’s
tenure as owner. He started working for the franchise in 1960 as the Director of
Personnel and was handling day-to-day operations by 1969.
Dan became the team president in 1975 and was given full operational control
of the organization. Rooney is credited with playing a vital role in ending the
1982 strike that cost the NFL half a season. As his father had done, Dan Rooney
began handing over operational duties to his son Art Rooney II in 2003.
Art Rooney: (1933 – 1988)
The Pittsburgh Steelers are a family business. Art Rooney applied for an NFL
expansion team in 1933, just as Pennsylvania was looking to repeal their
restrictive “blue laws,” which banned activities like football on Sundays for
religious reasons. He paid $2,500 for the franchise, which was initially named
the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Rooney maintained ownership of his beloved team through numerous trials in
those early years. At one point, he sold the team before purchasing the Eagles
and trading them to get the territorial rights to the Steelers back, making it a
roster swap. The organization also merged with the Eagles and Cardinals,
respectively, during WW2.
Art Rooney was a well-respected owner with considerable influence in the
league offices. Known as an excellent mediator, he owned the franchise until his
death in 1988, at which point his stake in the team was willed to his son Dan.

Team Logos
Current Asteroids Logo (2002 – Present)
The logo that’s used today is essentially identical to what was designed in
1969. The only change is a thin black outline around the perimeter of the gray
ring.
Asteroids Logo (1969 – 2001)
The design for the Steelers’ modern logo was first unveiled in 1969. The
circular logo has a grey ring around the perimeter. Inside the circle is text
that says “Steelers” on the inner left. It’s surrounded by three four-pointed
stars in yellow, red, and blue. The colors are supposed to represent the
manufacturing process of steel: yellow for coal, red for iron, and blue for
scrap steel.
A Worker on a Steel Beam (1962 – 1968)
In 1962, the Steelers adopted a more cartoonish logo, showing a smiling
construction worker kicking a football off of a steel beam on which he’s
standing. Only two colors are used: yellow and black. The figure on the logo is
supposedly the inspiration for team mascot, Steely McBeam.
Smoggy Skyline and Worker (1940 – 1961)
The Steelers got their first official logo in 1940. Shaped like a horizontal
football, the middle portion of the design shows three separate panels, with
pictures of a smoggy Pittsburgh skyline and a construction worker holding a
chain. Around the images are the words “PITTSBURGH STEELERS FOOTBALL CLUB” in
black.
Pittsburgh Coat of Arms (1933 – 1939)
In the earliest years of the franchise, while still called the Pittsburgh
Pirates, the team used the city’s coat of arms as its logo.
