Washington Texas Holdem
The state of Washington is a Texas holdem poker player’s paradise with a lot of poker rooms running good games. While you may struggle to find many no limit holdem cash games here, you’ll find a lot of spread limit games which have large maximum bets, making the game essentially a no limit one anyway.
Most of the casinos in the state are located on native Indian reservations, meaning they still have restrictions in respect to what games they can offer. Many poker rooms therefore have thriving Omaha and Texas holdem limit environments, meaning Washington could be a great place for you if you love these games.
The state is slowly loosening the laws around what games can be offered, and you’ll start to come across more low stakes no limit holdem cash games soon. Currently, pretty much all rooms still offer tournaments in no limit holdem format and the buy in range is quite low across the state so you can get your poker fill without having to risk too much money in a high variance game.
Online poker is still illegal in Washington, meaning you’ll need to head north and over the border into Canada if you want to play legally online. This shouldn’t worry you too much though as the number of live poker rooms is quite high for a smaller and less densely populated state.
