A Comprehensive Review of Dafabet

Dafabet Sportsbook and Casino totes itself as “Asia’s leading online betting site.” As a company that has been around since 2004 and makes such big claims, we were pretty excited to get digging to see if they were able to live up to the hype.

Our initial thoughts when we navigated to the site were a mix of positive and negative. Starting with the initial positives, we were glad to see that they were official sponsors of several soccer teams which is usually a good sign of a reputable company. Most professional sports teams won’t do business with shady operations that have any issues with paying customers or anything like that. They also had a few brand ambassadors supporting the site which is another check mark in the reputation category.

Where our initial thoughts weren’t positive was with the layout and interface of the homepage. In a nutshell, it was cluttered, and the site didn’t do well on different sized monitors. On smaller monitors, sections of the site would overlap other sections making it near impossible to read. On larger monitors, sections and images were stretched and were not very aesthetically pleasing. The best descriptive word for our initial two minutes on the site would be frustrating.

They also had a really strange message on their homepage banner that, to say the least, was a little off-putting.

After speaking with the site directly, we were able to make light of this and want to draw your attention to it. Apparently, there are a few rogue operators that are masquerading as the Dafabet brand. They’ve bought similar domain names and are trying to piggyback off the successes of the actual site.

How do you protect yourself and make sure you’re getting the real Dafabet?

ANY other domains or links that don’t match the one above exactly, are imposter sites and should not be trusted. If you use this link, though, we can guarantee that you will be accessing the correct Dafabet. We made sure to triple check this ourselves and with the site management.

While we had a few initial issues with Dafabet, once we sorted through them, things started looking up for the site. We guess the old homage of never judge a book by its cover is true even in the gaming industry. We’ve documented below our findings as we dug deeper into the Dafabet website and gaming portal.

As is the case with all of our reviews (and is probably evident by how we opened this review), we are not here to just point out the positives and sweep the negatives under the rug. We are here to give you an honest review that you can take to the bank. A review is worthless if you can’t trust that it is accurate even when that accurate picture isn’t pretty.

Ratings Breakdown

Overall

If we had to give a one or two-word description of the entire Dafabet site, it would be pretty good. They had a lot of great options for sports betting, some slot games we haven’t seen online much, incredible banking options with no fees, and a lot of customer support options.

The reason we docked a few points is not because of anything glaringly bad. They just had a few small things we’d like to see changed that would bring the site to a much higher level of quality. There was absolutely nothing major wrong with the site, and the small fixes we’d ideally like to see could probably be implemented in a week’s time if they were brought to the site’s attention. Overall, we would say this site is going to be awesome for some people and not ideal for others. Sites like this you will either love or hate and you’ll probably know that right away.

Game Variety

In the sportsbook, the betting options were great. In the casino, things were up and down. They had far fewer slot options than most sites, though, they had some games you typically only see in brick and mortar locations. Live dealer options were great on the site with options for Asian or European dealers. Table games were a wash as they had all the popular games you could want but no variations if you’re picky about what you like to play. This is one of those sites that will be perfect for some people and too little for others. It all comes down to your personal preferences.

Banking

If it were possible for a website to have too many options, Dafabet would win that competition. They had over 40 different banking options, all with instant deposits and withdrawals under two days. Fees were also zero on every option which was really great to see. You may feel overwhelmed when you see the banking options but remember that this is one category where being overwhelmed is infinitely better than being underwhelmed.

Bonuses

Bonuses were pretty good on Dafabet especially the ones in the sportsbook. We’re always fans of promotions that are targeted at specific bets or specific games within a casino or sportsbook. They seem always to be tailored better to what an active user of that game or bet would really want. We did knock a few points because they had some bonus promotions listed in the casino section that were nothing more than new features added to the site that would be better served listed somewhere else on the site. All bonuses and promotions were also listed in RM currency which is understandable based on their target demographic but may be confusing to those from other areas of the world not familiar with that currency.

Customer Service

They had phone, email, and live chat support available 24/7. We only took a slight point deduction because they required more information than normal to open up a live chat. This is just us being extremely nitpicky and letting some of our personal preferences shine through. We’d much rather get someone on the line then having to go through a bunch of drop down menus about what our question is. Overall, though, great customer service options.

User Interface

The user interface at Dafabet isn’t bad, but it really isn’t anything to rave about. Things are arranged pretty well, but there are a lot of small tweaks that could be made to make it an incredible platform. There were no major issues with the interface but instead, a multitude of small things. For example, they had a Slots tab and a Jackpot tab. If a slot game had a jackpot, it was listed on the Jackpot tab but NOT in the slots tab. Ideally, it should be listed in both.

Little things like that throughout the site forced us to dock a few points. That being said, we want to reiterate that the interface was not bad at all; we’re just being nitpicky.

Sportsbook

Seeing that Dafabet has a ton of sponsorships with professional football (soccer) teams as well as a few professional sports ambassadors, you would expect that they would have a pretty top notch and robust sports betting section.

Sports on the site are split into two categories or tabs on the main menu – OW Sports and Dafa Sports. We would love to be able to tell you the difference between the two, but we had a lot of issues getting the OW Sports portal to work properly. We kept getting the crash/took too long to load symbol and were unable to get it to load. We did see that they had tabs for Sports Betting, Number Game, eSports and Jackpot Bet. The eSports tab did load for us once and had a real cool live view of Twitch with some matches going on.

Hopefully, this was a temporary server issue with this section as it looked like from that one page, they may have some cool stuff to offer bettors.

Since we had a few issues with their new OW sports platform, we will focus on the Dafa Sports section that worked well. Dafa Sports looks to be their classic sportsbook that has been around for a while. The layout of the book is similar to other sites in the industry with four tabs across the top including Sportsbook, Live, eSports, and Promotions.

The Sportsbook tab is set up as we would expect with the different sports offerings along the left-hand side of the screen and betting odds across the middle. The one thing that was different was that when you selected a bet, it popped up on the left side of the screen above the sports options as opposed to the right side of the screen where other sites would put it. The right column on Dafabet was reserved for live updates of games you might be watching.

There were several features about their sports betting section that we loved seeing. First, you could change the view from Euro View to Asian View to accommodate your preferences in how you want the bets presented. They had a tab for changing the format the odds were displayed in, but for some reason, we couldn’t get it to change off decimal. When we clicked the drop down menu, nothing showed up so we were stuck with decimal which we prefer, but might not be your preference.

The betting odds in the middle of the screen updated in real time without the screen needing to be reloaded which was great. Sometimes we’ll run into sites that lag or glitch with odds updating. Dafabet updated these quickly and also with a red or green indicator to let you know which direction the bet had moved.

Regarding finding bets, they had a search function available, a section to save your favorites, and quick links to the most popular bets available (football, basketball, tennis, and baseball). The All Sports list was organized alphabetically with the exception of football (soccer) being at the top.

Bet selections and sports offered were great with Dafabets and definitely one of their high points. For convenience sake, they only listed sports and leagues that had bets active or were in season.

The live betting tab looked to be pretty inclusive with a lot of sports going while we were investigating. They had a lot of tabs at the top that you could sort the bets by which is definitely a plus if you’re looking to get live bets in. The one thing we did notice is that the odds changed extremely quickly on the site as opposed to some sites that only update the lines and bets offered periodically. This could be a pro or a con for you depending on how you like to bet. Overall, we see it as a pro.

The eSports tab had a few betting options as well as the live stream player that we really liked in the OW Sports section. The only difference here is that you are required to have made a deposit or have money in your account to be able to watch the live stream.

Slots

When you first click over to the casino tab of the site, it almost feels like you have traveled to a brand new site. The background, color schemes, and menu sizes all change to an overall cleaner look in our opinion. The layout of the casino area isn’t the best as it’s a bit cluttered and you have to look a little harder than we’d like to find what we’re looking for. We’re fans of the sites that have a big Slot tab prominently located at the top of the site.

The slots area can be reached by clicking on the Slot Games button that is located a few sections down in the middle of the page. Once you click on the dedicated section, the games are split up into two sections – slots and jackpots. The interesting thing here is that if a slot game has a jackpot, you can find it on the jackpot list but NOT on the slots list as well. Most sites would list these in both places, and we would have preferred to see this.

Regarding selection, they had significantly fewer games than a lot of other sites we’ve reviewed. There were only 38 slots listed in the slot section and 18 listed in the jackpot section. Quality wise, the games looked nice, though they didn’t seem to have many of the newer 3D style games that are popping up all over the place. The one cool thing they did have were a lot of games that we see in brick and mortar casinos like Buffalo Blitz that you rarely see on online sites.

Ideally, they are the exact same games except judging by the pictures, the dealers are pretty Asian women or pretty European women. There were several more options for Asian Live Games which is to be expected by the site’s target market.

They had most game options that we would like to see, but not much when it comes to variations of the popular games. Again, this can be a pro or a con depending on your preferences. If you like simplicity and just want to play your favorite games, this is a win. If you’re a player that has to have your certain variation of the game or else, you might not be a fan of this section of Dafabet.

We want to point out that a lot of the games are set up for Free Play for you to try out the games. The problem is that we weren’t able to ever get them working. We’d click the button, start twiddling our thumbs for a few minutes and nothing would happen. This would be a great feature if they can get it working.

The casino games are all set up to be played instantly from within the web browser, but they also give you the option of downloading a standalone client if that is your preference.

The site also offers a fully dedicated poker section for those looking to play. There were a few things that we found strange about the poker section that we want to draw your attention to. Initially, we weren’t quite sure if it was a Video Poker section or an actual player vs. player type poker section. The promos running on the main slider were about casino games but had cards in the picture. However, when you click to the poker tools page, they list Poker Tracker 4 and an odds calculator which are strictly for “actual poker” against other players.

Further digging shows that it is “actual poker” with cash games and tournaments. They strangely had a casino games section within the poker section which further threw us off. We can say now, though, after way too much homework that it is poker versus other players.

Most of these options were available for deposit and withdrawals and had fairly high transaction maximums which were great to see. Deposits were all instant, and withdrawals stated that the usual processing times were 1-2 days for all players and even faster for VIP players.

The site lists minimums and maximums for each currency offered. For simplicity sake and to not overload you with information, the numbers listed here are for the first currency listed as supported on each transaction type.

Your best friend here is the live chat or phone support so you can ask a million questions and make sure everything is clear.

Customer Support

All signs point to great customer service at Dafabet. They have live chat, email support and international (800 number) phone support available.

Live chat was great to see and had links to other social media forms of chat. The only complaint we had with the live chat function was that you had to select a ton of options before they got you to an agent. Personally, we like to get someone on the line as quickly as possible, though, we understand this may be much more efficient.

All support options look to be 24/7 which is a definite plus especially if you aren’t directly located in the Asian market space. As we mentioned, they also had links to Facebook support and WhatsApp support as well which is great to see. The more transparent and accessible a site tries to be, the more we respect and are inclined to trust them.

Conclusion

Overall, we feel like Dafabet is one of those sites that you’re either going to love, or you’re going to hate. It’s going to be a great fit for some and just feel off to others. If you are in any of the Asian markets, there are probably more things that you’re going to like as they are specifically targeting your demographic. For the rest of us, there are a lot of perks that we may be big fans of.

If we had to give an overall description of the site, it would be a monotone pretty good. Not an excited pretty good, but a regular run of the mill pretty good. There was nothing glaringly bad about the site but just a few little things we’d like to see improved. Though this is an all inclusive site, it felt more like a niche site that will dazzle some and leave some wanting more.

The bottom line best advice here is that you should take two minutes and check out the site for yourself. You’ll know pretty quickly whether you’re a fan or not.
