Welcome to my review of Jackpot City Casino! I have been wanting to review this casino for ages now, as I have seen their ads all over the place and they have been around for such a long time. When casinos are around for as long as Jackpot City, they can sometimes become a bit stale, but as with every review I write, I am going in with no predispositions. What I do know is this: if the casino continues to spend money on traditional advertising as well as the digital channels, they must be proactive with their offers.
Although these guys have a long-standing reputation in the industry, my review will be brutally honest. If the quality of the games and promotions don’t meet my expectations, you will figure it out pretty quickly in this review! My goal is to find my readers the best possible casinos to spend their cash, so let’s see is Jackpot City falls into that category!
Ratings Breakdown
Overall
Overall, I am very impressed with everything that this casino has to offer. I think there is something for everyone here, from huge progressive jackpots to a wide selection of table games. There are lots of promotions and a Loyalty program that rewards players of all stakes levels. While there are some things that the casino can improve, overall I think this site matches up well against any other casino available on the market today.
Game Variety
Microgaming is one of the top suppliers in the industry, and it is great to see them as the provider of games for Jackpot City. There are hundreds of game choices across the casino lobby, but one set of games missing are the Live Casino games that have grown in popularity in recent years. Hopefully, the folks behind the casino add these into the offering soon.
Banking
Options for deposits and withdrawals at Jackpot City are varied based on where you live, but there is no shortage of choices for both. The casino doesn’t tack any fees of their own onto withdrawals which is a nice touch. While the casino has a short pending period, the time it takes for you to get your money is dependent on which method you choose. There are currently no cryptocurrency options at the site.
Bonuses
I was a bit disappointed in the promotions area of the website. The disappointment didn’t come from the lack of offers, however. It is the lack of details on the ongoing promotions that is troubling. I am the kind of player that wants to know how a casino plans to keep me an active player, so the more details, the merrier in my opinion! The Welcome Bonus is aggressive but really only gives slots players a chance to fully convert the bonus dollars.
Customer Service
Jackpot City offers 24/7 customer service, which is excellent. However, the Live Chat feature is only open to real money players who are logged into their accounts. I can’t imagine that it would cost much more to have this service open to everyone who comes to the site, and having a way for potential depositors to have their questions answered in real-time may help in the conversion process.
User Interface
I am not a big fan of the layout of the Jackpot City website – there is a lot of information on each page, and it isn’t organized as well as it could be. Having said that, I do like the layout of the casino lobby, which is far more important to players in the long run. You can find the games very easily, and the tabs are well sorted. The website stuff is easy enough to fix if the casino chooses to do so.
Mobile Compatibility
Mobile players will be thrilled to find the casino has an app that can be downloaded for iOS and Android users! This may be restricted to the country in which you live, in which case there is a fully optimized version of the website and games that can be accessed from the browser of your tablet or phone. The mobile version of the games play with the same quality as the PC versions so you can take your casino experience with you anywhere you have an Internet connection.
The Basics About Jackpot City
The first Jackpot City casino website launched all the way back in 1998. That was the early days for the online casino world when there weren’t as many competitors as you find in the space today. Casinos that launched during that time period were being downloaded to players’ computers, and the files were so big that in many cases, sites like Jackpot City could send someone a disk with the games in the mail. Thankfully, we don’t live in those times now, with most casinos available to play right within your browser.
The ownership of Jackpot City has changed over the years, so when it comes to their reputation, it is tougher to track when issues took place. What I can tell you is that today the site is owned and operated by the Digimedia group of casinos. This company has been around for over a decade, and over the years has acquired many brands to house under their umbrella. Digimedia have a great reputation with their other brands – you can read some of my reviews of their other casinos here.
Jackpot City has two gaming licenses, one from the Kahnawake Gaming Commission and the other from the Malta Gaming Authority. The Kahnawake license is a legacy license that relates to hosting the casino in their facilities outside of Montreal. The Malta license is the one that carries more weight these days, and this is the jurisdiction you will want to take note of if you have any concerns about the casino.
The Malta license also dictates who can play at Jackpot City. Most specifically, Americans are not allowed to play here for real money. The full list of Restricted countries looks like this:
- Belgium
- Czech Republic
- Denmark
- Spain
- France
- United Kingdom
- Hong Kong
- Hungary
- Israel
- Iran
- Italy
- Philippines
- Portugal
- Romania
- Singapore
- Turkey
- Taiwan
- United States
- South Africa
The Casino
Ok, we now know that the folks behind Jackpot City are reputable and that the casino is licensed, which puts me at ease moving into the playing review of the site. This is always the most fun for me, as I love to gamble myself! I like to get a full experience when I am testing a casino for my reviews, so I start right at the beginning, creating an account from scratch and making a deposit. Both of these were very straightforward at Jackpot City, so I was ready to make my way to the games within a couple minutes.
Software
When you are on the homepage of a casino site, you can look at the bottom of the page for logos that give you a snapshot of what you should expect. There are logos from the licensing jurisdictions, the responsible gaming boards, and the software vendors. When I looked at Jackpot City for the first time, I was very pleased to find the Microgaming logo on the screen.
Microgaming has been in business since the early days of online gambling, and the software vendor has grown to be an industry leader, maintaining that position over the last two decades. Microgaming was the supplier of choice of the major brands of the late 1990s and early 2000s, including Jackpot City. The games are available in both download and browser formats. I chose the latter for this review and clicked on the games section of the site to get started.
Slots
With a name like Jackpot City, it made sense for me to start the playing review with the slots catalog, which is where I would have expected to find the most jackpots. I was not disappointed, as the full suite of Microgaming progressives seems to be on display here. At the time of this review, there were over 10 million USD available in jackpots across the games, with the top jackpot well over 4 million dollars! Yes, these jackpot games have slightly worse pay tables than other slots, but for me, it is totally worth it to get a chance to become an instant millionaire!
Well, like all my other reviews to date, I did not walk away from the slots a millionaire, but I can tell you that the quality of the Microgaming slots is something to behold. There are over 300 on display in the lobby at Jackpot City, including these titles that I think you will enjoy.
- Bridesmaids
- BrideZilla
- Dragon’s Myth
- Dragon Dance
- Fruit Fiesta – 5 Reel
- Fruit Salad
- Game of Thrones
- Game of Thrones 15-Line
- Halloweenies
- Happy Holidays
- Happy New Year
- Harveys
- Heavy Metal
- Hellboy
- Isis
- Jack in the Box
- Jackpot Express
- Jurassic Jackpot
- Jurassic Jackpot Big Reel
- Jurassic Park
- Kung Fu Cash
- Ladies Nite
- Lady in Red
- Mega Moolah
- Mega Moolah Isis
- Mermaids Millions
- Mermaids Millions Multi-Player
- Mocha Orange
- Money Mad Monkey
- Monkey’s Money
- Octopays
- Oranges & Lemons
- Phantom Cash
- Pharaoh’s Fortune
- Reel Gems
- Reel Spinner & Tarts
- Rhyming Reels – Jack & Jill
- Rhyming Reels – Old King Cole

- Spring Break
- Stardust
- Starlight Kiss
- Starscape
- Stash of the Titans
- Terminator 2
- …and so many more!
Video Poker
If I had to choose any game to play in a casino, I would head right to video poker. Something is soothing about the rhythmic approach of the gameplay – the speed that resembles a slot machine combined with the strategy of picking hold cards – that I love. There are so many different variants of the game these days that there is something for everyone. I tend to stick to classic games like Deuces Wild and Joker Poker myself, but at Jackpot City you get the chance to try all of these titles:
- Aces & Eights
- Aces & Faces
- All Aces
- All American
- Bonus Deuces Wild
- Bonus Poker Deluxe
- Deuces & Joker
- Deuces Wild
- Double Bonus
- Double Bonus
- Double Joker
- Jacks or Better
- Joker Poker (kings or better)
- Louisiana Double
- Tens or Better
Table Games
Moving on from a long video poker session, it was time to check out the table games at Jackpot City. Full disclosure here: I have played at Microgaming casinos for years, so I had an idea of what to expect in this section. Thankfully, I found all the games in the lobby (sometimes a casino will limit the number of table games it offers for some reason). This means that if you want to play Table Games here, you will find several different blackjack options as well as a full suite of other table games. For me, no table games session is complete without trying out some Pai Gow Poker. This poker variant is super fun to play, and I have found myself sitting at these tables for hours at a time.
Here are all the table games I found in the Jackpot City lobby:
- 3-Card Poker
- American Roulette
- Atlantic City Blackjack
- Baccarat
- Big Five Blackjack
- Bonus Blackjack
- Bonus Pai Gow Poker
- Classic Blackjack Multi-Hand
- Craps
- Double Exposure
- European Blackjack
- European Blackjack Hi-Lo 13
- European Roulette Gold
- French Roulette
- French Roulette Gold
- High-Speed Poker
- Hold’em High
- Multi-Wheel European Roulette Gold
- Multi-Player Roulette
- Premier Roulette
- Red Dog
- Roulette Royale – Progressive
- Spanish Blackjack
- Super Fun 21
- Vegas Downtown Blackjack
- Vegas Strip Blackjack
- Wheel of Riches
Banking Options
When it comes to banking at Jackpot City, the casino has you covered, no matter where you live. What I like the most about the payment options is that depending on where you live, you will see different, localized options for you right on the website. Withdrawals, according to the site, will be processed in 24 hours, but then there is the standard wait times form each of the processors. From what we could tell, there are no fees that the casino charges for you to worry about for deposits or withdrawals, which is great news – the money you win is the money you receive!
While each country will have slightly different payment options, here is a list of what options we found during our research:
Deposits
- Visa/Mastercard
- ClickandBuy
- Neteller
- Skrill
- EcoPayz
- Maestro
- Paysafe
- Postepay
- Visa Debit
- Visa Electron
- instaDebit
- Entropay
- Direct Bank Transfer
Withdrawal Options
- Visa/Mastercard
- ClickandBuy
- Neteller
- Skrill
- EcoPayz
- PayPal
Bonus Promotions
How a casino chooses to promote their site to players says a lot about the management team behind the scenes. Some sites just put some standard promotions on the site and leave them there for ages, letting them get stale. Other casinos, like Jackpot City, find some balance of static promotions and ongoing offers to give players motivation to log in more often.
Welcome Bonus
The Welcome Bonus at Jackpot City seems to be a static bonus that hasn’t changed much recently. That is fine with me, as it is a nice aggressive offer meant to draw the attention of potential new gamblers. Here is the breakdown of the $1,600 welcome offer.
100% Match Bonus up to a maximum of $400 on each of your first 4 deposits.
This offer has some Terms and Conditions which you should be aware of. First off, the four deposits must occur in the 7 days after the first deposit is made, so if you are planning to take full advantage of the offer, you need to be prepared to make a lot of deposits early on.
Also, the wagering requirement for the bonus is 50x, which is a little on the high side compared to other sites. This is amplified by looking at how each game earns bonuses for you:
- All Slots, Keno & Scratch Card games 100%
- Video Poker (excluding all aces pokers), all Blackjacks (excluding classic) 10%
- Classic Blackjacks, All Aces Video Pokers 2%
- All Roulette, Sic Bo, Craps, Baccarat, Table Poker, Casino War, Red dog, Wheel of Winners and Wheel of Riches 0%
So, if you are a slots player, then you can expect to earn bonuses much faster than other players.
Ongoing Promotions
The Promotions page of the website outlines that there are ongoing offers for players, but it is very generic with regards to what these promotions entail. On the one hand, it allows the site to create new offers regularly without having to update the website. On the other hand, I like to see more details of what I can expect, so maybe the site should outline some of the past offers so players can see what they could have earned previously.
Mobile Compatibility
Mobile casino play is growing rapidly, and most providers have made it a priority to provide an excellent mobile offering. The Microgaming caisno games are built to be played in browsers of PCs and mobile devices, which means you can access the games right from the browser of your phone or tablet.
The great news for mobile gamblers is that Jackpot City also has a native app for both Android and iOS devices! This is accessible for download in countries where gambling apps are legal, and since the casino is only using one software provider, it is much easier to be able to offer these apps. If you want to enhance your mobile play, I suggest you download the app directly to your phone.
Customer Service
Customer Support is an important piece of any player experience at an online casino. With no physical locations, the casino must provide real-time accessible support by as many methods as possible. At Jackpot City, the website is available in over a dozen languages, which is a great way to allow players to answer their own questions in native tongue. The support department is open 24/7 with Live Chat operators reserved for real money players who are logged into their accounts. There is also a support email address which players can use if they are not in a huge rush to receive a response as it can take up to 24 hours to have the casino get back to you.
Summary
Well, my time spent reviewing this site did not disappoint! I am very happy to see that even though the site has been around for twenty years, the management team works hard to keep everything fresh and relevant. I am a bit shocked that Live Dealer games aren’t available, which is disappointing given how much fun they are to play and that Microgaming has a relationship with Evolution Gaming.
Overall, I was very pleased with what I found at Jackpot City and having an excellent mobile offering means that this casino is going to be successful long into the future.
Verdict
I am very pleased to recommend Jackpot City Casino to my readers. If you want to play great games from your PC or mobile device and take advantage of a site that is keen to reward players, then this is the site for you!
FAQ
Can I use Bitcoin at this casino?
For the time being, Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are not available as a payment method at Jackpot City. These currencies are still very volatile, so many operators are resistant to use them for their deposits and withdrawals. There are many other sites that I have reviewed that accept Bitcoin if this is the payment method you want to stick with.
Is the native app better than the browser version of the casino?
Better isn’t the word I would use to describe it. I would say that the native apps are more convenient as you can store your login information, etc. However, they also take up space on your device, and if you are running out of memory, you may want to stick to the browser version of the games.
What happens if the game freezes in the middle of a hand?
Casinos do freeze on occasion, mainly due to a dip in the internet connection. These days, all the software is built to freeze the hand when it crashes, and when you start up the game again, it will simply resume the play. IF for some reason that doesn’t occur, then you should contact support for more information.
Why can’t I see the app in the app store?
Native apps for iOS and Android are subject to review and approval by the operating systems. Both Apple and Google have restricted access to gambling apps to countries where online gambling is legal, so depending on where you live, you may not see the apps available for download.
What games should I play to make the most money?
Well, casinos aren’t built and launched because players make money…every game has a house edge. Profitability isn’t as easy as just selecting a game to play. You need to consider the pay tables of different games as well as the house edge. Strategy also comes into play, so if you want more details on this, I suggest you check out our Casino Games Guide section.
