An Honest Review of Lucky Club Online Casino

I am back with another one of my brutally-honest online casino reviews for
you all! This time, I am excited to take a look at Lucky Club Casino. Why am I
so excited? Well, I really don’t know much about this casino, which is always a
good place for me to start. I also haven’t used this casino software very often,
so I am excited to get a full, detailed playing session in for this review.
Finally, when I first looked at the homepage, I was kind of stunned by the
simplicity of it. At first, I thought this was a crappy design, but then I
thought to myself that maybe I have been looking at graphics-rich sites for so
long that my vision was blurred.

First impressions aside, it was time to see if Lucky Club casino left me
feelin…well, lucky. Let’s jump right in.

Ratings Breakdown

Overall

This casino squeaks into the category of sites that I would recommend to my
readers, and that is only by the skin of their teeth. I think there is so much
more that this casino can do with very little extra effort, but I wonder if the
owners are more focused on their other brands. At any rate, some small fixes and
more attention to detail would go a long way to improving my rating for Lucky
Club Casino.

Game Variety

The games at Lucky Club come from NuWorks, which clearly either has a direct
relationship with RealTime Gaming or has stolen from them. Either way, the
casino does not offer all the games that RTG clients are given, and when you
factor in that many table games are missing from the Flash version, this is
about the highest score I can give the site.

Banking

For a US-facing site, the overall set of payment options is pretty decent.
Non-American players can take advantage of e-wallet solutions, which means they
will probably be paid in a much faster timeframe. I am surprised that the owners
haven’t opted for Bitcoin for banking, but perhaps it is going to add that as
the cryptocurrency becomes more stable.

Bonuses

The promotions area of the Lucky Club offering leaves a lot to be desired.
While there is a generous welcome bonus and several much smaller ongoing
promotions, there should be much more to offer a player, especially when there
does not appear to be a VIP program. At the very least, the company should offer
the tournaments that it has a full set of terms and conditions about on the T&C
page!

Customer Service

Well, this site has an excellent support department, which is good because my
guess is that you are going to have some questions when you are playing! I wish
the site had an FAQ section to deal with the simpler, more general questions,
but I can live without it. As for contacting the casino, you can choose from
several real-time methods which should connect you with an agent pretty quickly.

User Interface

This is not the prettiest website you will ever encounter in the online
casino world, that’s for sure. However, while the site lacks in the way of
modern design, it is refreshingly low in the number of banner ads promoting
things you already know just by being on the site itself. I think the design
could use a bit of an overhaul, but I would much rather the company spend money
on promotions and content than on the look and feel.

Mobile Compatibility

While the games I was able to play from my mobile device played with
excellent speed and quality, I was dismayed by how few games were in the lobby.
The mobile platform is only browser-based, which limits the games to the same
titles as those in the Flash version for the PC. This is pretty disappointing,
especially if you like to play table games.

Lucky Club Casino is one of those brands that you may have seen over the
years. It originally launched all the way back in 2008, but it has changed
ownership a couple of times and is now owned and operated by Jackpot Capital
Group. This is good news for players, as it seems the ownership group is stable
and offers more than one brand, thus making it hopefully more secure in the long
run.

Lucky Club is licensed from the country of Curacao, which as you likely know
from reading my reviews is not my favorite gaming jurisdiction. While companies
do indeed have to go through some due diligence to get this license, ultimately
all the Curacao Gaming Commission is worried about is receiving their license
fees on an annual basis. This is a very operator-friendly jurisdiction, so I
wouldn’t count on much help, if any, should you have an issue arise with the
casino.

As far as who is not allowed to play at this site, the list is pretty short.
UK players are not welcome, nor is any US state that currently has its own
online gambling legislation. Aside from that, everyone else is welcome to open a
Lucky Club account and start playing the games.

The Casino

As with all my reviews, I like to do my research on the company background
without reading any other reviews of the site. For me, going into each review
with an open and clear mind allows me to be as honest as I can when I am testing
the games. So, after researching the first part of this review, I was ready to
create an account, make my initial deposit, and get right into the action.

Software

The first thing I look for when starting to play at any casino is the company
providing the games. Within seconds of finding out that information, I am able

Lucky Club Casino offers games from a vendor by the name of NuWorks. Now,
this one came as a bit of a shock to me for a couple of reasons. First, I hadn’t
heard anything about this company before this review, and they appear not to

lobby at Lucky Club look like games from RealTime Gaming, another US-friendly
supplier of games.

After doing a little more digging, it would appear that NuWorks is an

RTG site. Regardless, the games are very similar, so if you like the RTG games,
then I think you will find this offering satisfactory.

While I am more of a fan of tables games and video poker, I like to start my
reviews of most casinos with the slots catalog. This isn’t because I want to get
them out of the way – in fact, it is the opposite. This is the area of a casino
where an operator can show off the most diverse content, so it takes a little
more time to evaluate.

Now that I am done with the review of the slots (by the way, I had a terrible
session and left a lot of money on those machines), it is time to look at my
favorite game: video poker. To me, there is no better combination of skill,
luck, and speed than this game. If you haven’t played video poker before, you

The video poker selection at Lucky Club, while not as numerous as many of the
other casinos I have reviewed, still provides players with a few excellent
titles. You can also play the majority of these games in single- or multi-hand
versions, increasing the level of excitement with every draw of the cards!

Table Games

Okay, this is where this review started to go off the rails for me, if I am
being honest. I originally tested the games by using the instant-play version of
the casino. This allowed me to register and play the games without having to
download anything to my laptop. After playing slots and video poker, I wanted to
get in a great session of table games in order to see what level of quality I
would find.

Well, what a shock to find only ONE TABLE GAME in the Flash version of the
casino. Blackjack. That’s it. I was sure this was an error, so I kept poking
around. Nope. Nothing. Nada. Just blackjack. This is ridiculous. So, I
downloaded the casino to see if there was anything different, and sure enough, I
found a handful more table games available.

One glaring omission is roulette, even though I know at some point they had
it, as it is listed as a game in their bonus terms and conditions. Look, I have
no idea why a casino would choose to offer so few table games, and I respect the
decision, but since more players access casinos in a no-download format, it just
seems dumb that they don’t offer all the available games in both formats. At any
rate, after the anger went away, I did have a good session playing the blackjack
game. Overall, while they are woefully short in numbers, the quality of the
games isn’t horrible.

Seeing that Lucky Club Casino is open to players from basically all over the
world, you would expect a long list of payment options. There are a few choices
for depositing and withdrawing, but not nearly as many as I would have expected.
American players will find it a bit of a tease that you see Skrill and Neteller
logos, given that you can’t use those methods from the US anymore. At least
there doesn’t appear to be any fees charged for either deposits or withdrawals
from the site, so that is a nice touch.

Bonus Promotions

Well, if the games are decent, and the banking options are enough to get by,
what will the promotions look like at this casino? I tend to pay a significant
amount of attention to the offers that come from the marketing department of an
online casino. This is a highly competitive industry, so how a site entices you
to become a player and retains you is crucial to the bottom line of the
operation. I checked out the promotions page of the site, and here is what I
found.

Welcome Bonus

I always start with the welcome bonus, mainly because I am a player, and I
make deposits at every casino I write about. The welcome offer at Lucky Club
claims to give you up to $2222 in bonuses. This is split over 3 deposits, which
looks like this:

There is also a bonus of $22 cash after you make your third deposit.

Overall, I am not against sites that stagger bonuses over a series of
deposits. However, I doubt many of you will be able to earn all these bonus
dollars, so don’t stress over trying to make a massive first few deposits.

I checked the terms and conditions mainly because there is no information
about the details of the bonus on the promotions page. Everything is pretty
standard, and the wagering requirement to earn the full bonus is 30x the sum of
the deposit and bonus. This is on the high side compared to other sites I have
reviewed, but it isn’t the worst I have found along the way.

25% Cashback

This offer seemed a bit too good to be true – unlimited 25% cashback with no
withdrawal limit. As it turns out, it is a bit more complicated than that.
First, you need to have made a deposit without using a bonus code – if you
accept a deposit bonus, you are not qualified to get cashback. Next, the money
you receive in cash back is subject to a10x rollover before you can withdraw it.
That is actually fine with me, as this is free money; the casino shouldn’t just
let you walk away with it all.

VIP Program

Well, I wanted to write something about this, but there is simply no
information about the VIP or loyalty programs at Lucky Club on the website. You
would think with a name like this casino has, having a VIP club would be a
no-brainer. I remain hopeful that this is a design error on the website and that
there is, in fact, a VIP mechanism. However, until I find those details, I
cannot review them, so I have to give the casino a low score for that.

Mobile Compatibility

When I review a casino, I look in detail at the mobile offering. These days,
more players are likely to access the games from a phone or tablet, so how a
casino presents itself on a mobile device is very important.

I ask two questions when reviewing the mobile compatibility of a casino site:

1. What type of mobile offering does the casino have?
2. Are all the games available for mobile play?

When looking at Lucky Club, I already had my concerns based on the
differences in the PC version of the games. My fears came true when I looked at
the site from my phone. You can indeed play games right from your mobile device.
However, it is a no-download version of the casino in the mobile browser. This
means that you are limited to the games that are offered in the Flash version of
the PC games. Again, I cannot quite figure out why this is the case – a casino
should want to promote as many games as possible via as many channels as are
available.

There is no native app of Lucky Club Casino available for either iOS or
Android devices, so you are limited to what you can find from your browser. At
least the quality of the mobile games is decent, even if it is limited in
selection.

Another admission at this point in the review: I was pretty disappointed
overall with my experience so far. Now, that doesn’t mean that the site is no
good. It just means that for someone who plays and writes about casinos every
day, I could have had a better experience.

I went to the support section of the site wondering what I would find. I did
have a couple of questions for support (I decided not to ask about the
differences between the download and Flash versions), and I was pleased to find
multiple options for contacting the casino. First of all, there is a live chat
box available on the bottom right-hand corner of every page of the website. When
I clicked on it, I was met by an agent within seconds. That agent was able to
answer my general question correctly and quickly.

You can also reach the casino by telephone or by Skype, which is a nice,
modern touch from this brand. If you want to explain your issue in detail, I
suggest you use the email address provided by the site.

Summary

How do I properly summarize my time reviewing Lucky Club Casino? Well, let’s
start by saying that this casino isn’t for everyone, but it is for some! There
are some decent games available in the lobby, and even though I can’t quite
figure out the relationship between NuWorks and RealTime Gaming, there is
definitely one there. The registration process is simple, and it was pretty easy
to add funds to my account. I would say that despite my concerns (of which there
were plenty), I don’t think this is a casino that will go rogue, and sometimes
that is all a player needs to hear to make their decision.
