Aladdin Slot Machines Overview
Atmosphere / Background
One early scene in the Aladdin film shows the young thief stealing bread and
running from guards through the streets of Agrabah.
This slot reflects the movie scene by featuring an expansive city behind the
reels. You can also see the top of the palace rising over the reels.
The palace doesn’t offer much detail, but the city looks good since you can
see dozens of intricately designed buildings.
The only thing keeping us from totally loving the background is the muted
colors and grey skies. Even still, this is one of our favorite backgrounds for
an Aladdin themed slot.
Music and Sound Effects
Aladdin’s music features a serious Arabian tune that’s reminiscent of films
like Prince of Persia, Indiana Jones, and The Mummy. We like this as a change to
the playful music that other Aladdin themed slots feature.
Sound effects include: a movie projector sound when you spin the reels, coins
piling up after wins, and a dreamy sound during payouts.
We rate this game’s sound effects as average because they don’t perfectly
match the theme, nor is there enough variety.
Animations
Aladdin’s best animation occurs when gold coins jump off the reels and into
your balance. You’ll also see the words Big Win along with confetti pop up on
the reels when you score a large payout.
Other animations include symbols from winning combinations either spinning
around or moving towards and away from the screen.
This is another department where the Aladdin slot rates average. We
appreciate that there are multiple animations, but none of them are specific to
the characters.
Aladdin Pay Table and Graphics
The pay table button is located directly beneath the reels, and it shows you
the following symbols and payouts:
- Genie Lamp Wild
The oil lamp is the wild symbol and substitutes for all
other symbols to form winning payouts. The lamp also offers 150 coins if you
land 5 of these symbols in a pay line.
- Palace Mega Jackpot
This Arabian style palace awards the Mega Jackpot when
landing 5 times in a line.
- Genie Minor Jackpot
This green genie – not blue like in the movie –
delivers the Minor Jackpot when appearing 5 times in a pay line.
- Monkey Mini Jackpot
Named Abu in the movie, this monkey offers the Mini
Jackpot when landing 5 times in a line.
- Gold Bag
The gold pays 200 coins for 5 symbols, 40 for 4, and 12 for 3.
- Sword
The sword pays 150 coins for 5 symbols, 40 for 4, and 12 for 3.
- Crown
The crown offers 120 coins for 5 symbols, 40 for 4, and 12 for 3.
- A
The A pays 100 coins for 5 symbols, 30 for 4, and 10 for 3.
- K
This letter offers 80 coins for 5 symbols, 25 for 4, and 10 for 3.
- Q
The Q pays 60 coins for 5 symbols, 25 for 4, and 10 for 3.
- J, 10
These two symbols both offer 50 coins for 5 symbols, 20 for 4, and 10
for 3.
- Fruit Basket Scatter
The fruit basket pays a multiple of your triggering
bet when landing 3 or more times anywhere on the reels. The scatter payouts are
worth 100x for 5 symbols, 30x for 4 symbols, and 5x for 3 symbols.
- Vase Free Spins
The vase triggers free spins when landing 3 times or more
anywhere on the reels. You receive 15 free spins for 5 symbols, 10 spins for 4,
and 5 for 3.
- Magic Carpet Bonus
You trigger a second screen bonus when landing 3 or more
magic carpets.
Symbol Graphics
One strange thing about this slot is that it has many of the exact same
symbols as Realtime Gaming’s Aladdin’s Wishes (covered later). The lone missing
symbols are Aladdin and Jasmine, who, as mentioned before, only appear in the
bonus round.
This is likely due to a licensing agreement between 777igt and Realtime
Gaming, but it’s still not an attractive quality to feature copied symbols.
Focusing on the graphics, Aladdin’s symbols are presented in cartoon fashion.
While the cartoon graphics look nice, they’re nowhere near the same level as
Aladdin’s Treasure’s licensed Disney characters.
Aladdin Slot Bonus Features
The most exciting aspect of this game is its multiple features, including
free spins, a second screen bonus, and three jackpots. Here’s a closer look at
each of these special features.
Free Spins
As mentioned in the pay table, you can trigger between 5 and 15 free spins by
landing 3 or more vases anywhere on the reels.
These free spins are boring because they don’t include a different
background, new music, or multipliers.
Bonus Round
When you land 3 magic carpets anywhere on the reels, you’ll be taken to a map
where Aladdin and Jasmine await on their flying carpet.
The map includes a dotted path that’s marked with vases and treasure chests.
You’ll also see a circle with a pointer that you spin to determine how many
spaces you move forward.
The vases offer small payouts while the treasure chests offer larger prizes
based on your triggering bet. The goal is to land on one of the treasure chests
as you travel around the map.
We like this bonus and think that it offers more detail than most second
screen rounds. But its disappointing that this is the only time you see Aladdin
& Jasmine in the game.
3 Jackpots
With three available jackpots, Aladdin gives you the chance to win big on any
spin.
At the time of this writing, the Mega jackpot is worth $1,113,024, the Minor
Jackpot is worth $561,512, and the Mini Jackpot sits at $371,008.
Not only is the seven figure Mega prize impressive, but it’s also nice that
the two smaller jackpots are worth six figures.
Betting Options
You can change pay lines from 5 25, and adjust your coin size from $0.01 to
$2.00. This makes the minimum bet worth $0.05, and the max wager $50.00 per
spin.
You use plus / minus buttons underneath the reels to change your betting
options. One thing we don’t like about this is that the plus / minus buttons are
touchy, meaning you have to click just the right spot to make changes.
Other Options
You can auto spin the reels for 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, or infinity spins. The
infinity option is nice for those who don’t like having to set up autos pin
again when it reaches the limit.
The speaker button in the upper right hand corner lets you adjust the volume
higher or lower. We like how the volume has a wide range of settings that allow
you to put the music exactly where you want it.
Win Frequency
We played Aladdin for 250 300 spins and found the win frequency to be above
average for a 25 payline slot.
We won on the majority of our spins and were impressed with how many times
the mid paying symbols factored into prizes. But we also experienced cold
streaks where we’d go 5 6 straight spins without a win.
The free spins and bonus round occurred with regular frequency since we
triggered free games 3 times and the bonus twice.
Game Rules
The main rules for Aladdin slot are as follows:
- Payouts must form in active lines from left to right, beginning with the
leftmost reel.
- Payouts are multiplied by your line stake i.e. if you bet $1.00,
a 100 coin win is worth $100.
- Scatter payouts like the fruit basket scatter,
magic carpet bonus, vase free spins, and three jackpots symbols can form
anywhere without landing in a specific pay line.
- The jackpot symbols palace, genie & monkey must appear 5 times in a pay
line to trigger a jackpot; anything else doesn’t result in a win.
Comparison to Other Aladdin themed Slot Machines
Earlier, we mentioned that Aladdin uses the same symbols as Realtime’s
Aladdin’s Wishes, which makes these two games worth comparing.
You can also see a comparison between 777igt’s two Aladdin themed games.
777igt’s Aladdin’s Treasure Slot Machines
The big difference between Aladdin’s Treasure and Aladdin is that the latter
uses licensed Disney characters for symbols.
This not only gives players familiarity with the game, but also makes for
richer symbol graphics than most slots. Contrast this to Aladdin, which uses
characters from another game and doesn’t even include Princess Jasmine or
Aladdin as symbols.
One area where we give Aladdin slot the edge is its background, which offers
a detailed cityscape. Aladdin’s Treasure features a sandy background that
doesn’t recreate the feeling of the movie it represents.
We also like the music better in Aladdin since it’s a more serious tune, as
opposed to the Arabian dance style music features in Aladdin’s Treasure.
Several aspects are the same between both games, including the number of
sound effects, animations, jackpots, and bonuses.
Overall, we give Aladdin’s Treasure the edge because of its Disney characters
and richer symbol graphics.
Realtime Gaming’s Aladdin’s Wishes Slot Machines
When you open Aladdin’s Wishes, you’ll get a familiar feeling thanks to the
symbols.
Every symbol is the same, except that Aladdin’s Wishes has two more icons in
Aladdin and Jasmine. The fact that this game includes the main characters is a
definite plus.
Aladdin’s Wishes has an alright background with a small palace, purple sky,
and camels in the distance. But visually, this scene doesn’t compare to what’s
seen with Aladdin’s city background.
Another area where Aladdin has the clear advantage is its special features
and jackpots. As we covered, you’ll play for free spins, scatter payouts, three
large jackpots, and a second screen bonus.
Aladdin’s Wishes has free spins, second screen bonus, and a random jackpot.
But the jackpot is much smaller than what’s offered in Aladdin, and you can’t
earn scatter payouts either.
Based on the bonuses and graphics, we give Aladdin the clear advantage, even
though it copies symbols from Aladdin’s Wishes.
Conclusion
777igt’s game isn’t the most original take that we’ve seen on Aladdin, but it
has several likeable aspects.
The positives begin with the background, which makes you feel like you’re
looking for the fictional city of Agrabah. We also like the music, which sets a
serious tone for this game.
What’s exciting about Aladdin is how many bonus and jackpot opportunities you
have. Bonuses include scatter prizes, free games, and a map round, while the
Mega, Minor, and Mini Jackpots are all huge.
You can also expect flexible betting options that allow you to play 5 lines
for as little as $0.05.
Downsides to this game include unoriginal symbols, limited animations & sound
effects, and average symbol graphics.
Of these limitations, the replicated symbols is the most cringe worthy aspect
of Aladdin. It’s also bad that Aladdin and Jasmine only show up on the map
bonus.
Despite the drawbacks, Aladdin is still a worthwhile game that fans of the
Disney film will enjoy. And the multiple bonuses and jackpots give this slot
playability beyond a single session.
