Aladdin’s Treasure Slot Machines Overview
Atmosphere / Background
Aladdin's Treasure begins with an introduction that displays sand swirling while
travelers on camels make their way across the desert. This scene stays
constant throughout the game, but the substantial portion of it that
remains visible is mostly covered by the reels.
To the right of the reels stands Princess Jasmine, looking just as she does in the movie, dressed in an outfit of light blue that echoes her animated counterpart. This is an undeniably cute touch, but the only thing cuter than Jasmine is the fact that she makes no other movement aside from blinking.
This differs from many other slot machines with visible main characters, who
celebrate winning payouts along with you.
The spin and auto spin buttons are where you see genie lamps, and for all the other game options, you'll see symbols that are in the shape of an Arabian figure.
We appreciate the spin and pay line markers, in addition to Jasmine being visible, as aspects of the game that provide a good background. However, we believe it would be a little more beneficial to have a city or palace background, as opposed to a desert one, with shadowy figures on camels. They could be better utilized elsewhere.
Music and Sound Effects
The primary game showcases a tune with an Arabian influence that's enjoyable for a short period. However, we found ourselves reducing the sound level after listening to it for a longer duration.
Because this slot is directly based on the Disney film, it would've been nice to hear some of the hit songs, like A Whole New World. Of course, licensing is also required for this, so we understand why 777igt didn't go this route.
Effects of sound consist of: a sound like that of a mower lawn when the reels get spun, a dreamy jingle to announce when one has a winning combination, and the sound of coins adding up when one is winning. The latter sounds just like when one is collecting coins in the Nintendo game Super Mario Bros.
Aladdin’s Treasure is an action game. The sound effects are not perfectly matched with the game’s content but—together with the music—they create a well-blended audio environment that contributes to the game’s action-packed fluidity.
Animations
Animations consist of: Aladdin and Jasmine rising on a magic carpet, Genie appearing from the lamp, Genie hovering in the air, Iago the parrot surfing the air, and coins popping out of the slots during big wins.
Aladdin’s Treasure Pay Table and Graphics
To access the pay table, click the small button on the left-hand side. The symbols and payouts that you will find are shown below:
Mega Jackpot
The Cave of Wonders opening functions as the Mega Jackpot symbol. You trigger this progressive Mega Jackpot when you land 5 Cave of Wonders in a pay line.
Mini Jackpot
Aladdin's archenemy, Jafar, does not make an entrance in this space. Perhaps that's why our not-so-great Sultan has a wizard in a purple hat serving as the Mini Jackpot symbol. Because the real Jafar has had plenty of time to plot and scheme in his hot. That's why no one wants to Chillin' with the Sultan!
Minor Jackpot
The symbol for the Minor Jackpot is a wizard in an orange robe. Similar to the Mega and Mini Jackpot, the player wins this award when they line up 5 of the symbols on a pay line.
Magic Carpet Ride Wild
Aladdin & Jasmine
Featuring Aladdin and Jasmine embracing, this symbol pays
200 coins for 5 symbols, 40 for 4, and 12 for 3.
Iago – Jafar’s parrot henchman pays 150 coins for 5 symbols, 40 for 4, and 12
for 3.
Princess Jasmine
Dressed in a purple outfit, the solo Jasmine symbol pays
120 coins for 5 symbols, 30 for 4, and 12 for 3.
A
The A pays 100 coins for 5 symbols, 30 for 4, and 10 for 3.
K
This letter offers 80 coins for 5 symbols, 25 for 4, and 10 for 3.
Q
The Q pays 60 coins for 5 symbols, 25 for 4, and 10 for 3.
J, 10
These two symbols both pay 50 coins for 5 symbols, 20 for 4, and 10
for 3.
Abu Monkey
Aladdin's associate, a monkey, offers a scatter payout whenever he shows up
3 or more times anywhere on the reels. Abu's scatter payouts are worth
100 times your triggering bet for 5 symbols, 30 times for 4, and 5 times for 3.
Genie
The late Robin Williams voiced Genie in the movie. He triggers free spins when he appears 3 or more times on the reels.
Genie Lamp
The lamp triggers a second screen bonus when it lands anywhere
at least 3 times.
Symbol Graphics
Aladdin's Treasure has excellent symbol graphics that resemble what was seen in the film. Aladdin and Jasmine, Abu, Iago, the Sultan (bonus), and the Cave of Wonders are easy to identify.
The only candidate that is suspect is the solo Jasmine, which, while not terrible to look at, is pushed further back on the screen and is consequently more difficult to see.
We think it is also odd to have two wizards featured and to have Jafar omitted. It does not make any sense to us why all of the other characters but the chief bad guy would be included.
Aladdin’s Treasure Slot Bonus Features
In addition to utilizing licensed Disney characters, Aladdin's Treasure has the additional benefit of being host to a number of extra features. Below, we take a look at the free spins, second screen bonus, and three jackpots that can be triggered.
Free Spins
The scatter symbol of the Genie provides free spins, as follows:
5 symbols—15 free spins
4 symbols—10 free spins
3 symbols—5 free spins
Once you trigger what the game calls "free games," gold letters will flash around the border of the screen, and a booming voice will inform you that you just earned some free spins.
The actual spins have no extra theatrics and use the same background as the
main game.
Bonus Round
If you land 3 or more genie lamp scatters, you are taken to a palace chamber with two lamps. You also see the Sultan standing on both sides, which is the only time he makes an appearance in the game.
You earn prizes by continuing to rub the genie lamps that are available, and the bonus period ends when one of the lamps goes out.
3 Jackpots
As mentioned before, Aladdin’s Treasure has three different jackpots in the
Mega, Minor, and Mini Jackpots.
Currently, the Mega Jackpot stands at $1,109,964, while the Minor Jackpot is worth $559,982, and the Mini Jackpot is valued at $369,998.
These jackpots are all pretty impressive in comparison to the other games, with the Major Jackpot standing out as the only seven-figure prize.
Betting Options
The number of pay lines can be changed from 10 to 100 through the Bet Lines button at the bottom of the screen. You can only change lines in increments of 10, but we didn’t mind this limitation considering that there are 100 pay lines.
The size of your coin can also be adjusted. You can make it any amount from $0.01 to $1.00. That makes the game's minimum bet $0.10 and the maximum wager $100.00 per spin.
Automatic spin lets you maintain the reels in a running state for 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, or an infinite number of spins. The option for infinity is menu-listed as 100.
Any time that you want to stop auto spin, click the Stop button in the lower
right hand corner.
Other Options
Aladdin's Treasure has only one other option, which is to use the speaker button located in the upper left hand corner to control the volume.
Win Frequency
For a slot machine with 100 paylines, Aladdin's Treasure has a below-average frequency of wins. The number of times you actually win makes it feel like a slot with only 30 paylines.
Naturally, when you utilize all 100 lines, as we did, you're sure to hit the win button quite often. Over two-thirds of our spins were winning ones; the overwhelming majority of these yielded 3 symbol payouts involving the letters and/or number.
We played 250 to 300 spins, repeatedly activating the free spins feature and the second-screen bonus twice. However, this occurred mostly in the early part of our session, and thereafter we experienced a significant drought with the bonuses.
Given that win frequency isn’t high in this game, we recommend playing 50 100
lines at one cent per line.
Game Rules
Aladdin’s Treasure features standard rules for a 5 reel slot machine,
including the following:
- All non-scatter payouts must form left to right, beginning with the
leftmost reel.
- Payouts are multiplied by on your line stake, i.e. if you bet $0.10, a
150 coin payout would be worth $1.50.
- The Abu scatter can pay anywhere as long as it lands 3 times on the
reels. Likewise, the Genie and lamp symbols trigger bonuses when they land
anywhere 3 or more times.
- You must get 5 Cave of Wonders, purple wizard, or orange wizard symbols
to win the Mega, Minor, and Mini Jackpots respectively.
Comparison to Other Aladdin themed Slot Machines
There are not only several online slots with an Aladdin theme, but they also run very close together in name. That’s why we’ve picked Topgame’s Aladdin’s Treasures to make one comparison, so you don’t get it mixed up with the game of the same name from 777igt.
We’ll also compare Aladdin’s Treasure to the Aladdin slot machine since
they’re both made by 777igt.
777igt’s Aladdin
This is a generic version of the story of Aladdin, with five reels, 25 paylines, and not much else to recommend it other than the presence of a genie and a monkey as the only characters.
The symbols for the Major, Minor, and Mini Jackpots are the palace, genie, and monkey, respectively. The fruit basket is a scatter payout. A vase is a free spin trigger. And a magic carpet gets you into the bonus round.
As you can see, Aladdin's special features are exactly the same as those of Aladdin's Treasure, just with varying symbols. However, we see a clear distinction in Aladdin's background and music.
Background: a cityscape, much like the streets where Disney’s Aladdin ran before finding the magic lamp that changed his life.
The music is a serious Arabian tune, which we like better than Aladdin’s
Treasure’s dance style music.
The biggest downside of Aladdin is that the graphics for its symbols are not nearly as sharp as those in Aladdin's Treasure. Most of these exact symbols can be found in Realtime Gaming's Aladdin's Wishes, which doesn't look nearly as good as it could with Disney characters. Still, Aladdin is better than some
This is why we believe Aladdin's Treasures is the superior game, given also that the actual title character is not even in Aladdin.
Topgame’s Aladdin’s Treasure
Were Aladdin to be made into a film of real life, or at least an Xbox One or
PlayStation 4 game, it would resemble Topgame’s Aladdin’s Treasure.
The graphics are outstanding, with the generic Aladdin, Princess Jasmine,
Genie, and Jafar characters looking very realistic.
In addition to appreciating the serious tone of the Aladdin slot machine's music, we enjoy the lighthearted melodies in 777igt's Aladdin's Treasure. The music from these two games lies somewhere in between.
The backdrop features a structure located in the marketplace. While this has good visuals, we favor the cityscape from the Aladdin slot because it creates a better ambience.
Jackpots are absent from Aladdin's Treasure, but the game offers scatter payouts and free spins. It also includes a second screen bonus that has you trying to locate an item that can be swapped for a magical genie lamp.
If you are a fan of the Disney film yet have yearned to witness a more authentic rendition, then we suggest you give Topgame's Aladdin's Treasure a whirl.
Our verdict
The market for Aladdin-themed slot machines has good competition, featuring several well-made games. Yet 777igt’s Aladdin’s Treasure manages to set itself apart from the pack thanks to one quality: it features actual Disney characters.
Seeing the precise Disney incarnations of Jasmine, Abu, Iago, the Sultan, and Aladdin is such a blast. It's a nice change of pace from the stock characters we see in other casino games. Better yet, 777igt makes these symbols visually arresting with their stunning use of color. It's hard not to look, and that's kind of the point.
Other favorable elements of Aladdin's Treasure are the various special features, among them jackpots, free spins, scatter payouts, and a second screen bonus.
Even though the typical player has no opportunity to win them, the jackpots are colossal and generate extra thrills with each spin.
The bonus round is a simple game of choice. Even though it's very basic, it's a nice respite from the spinning reels. Choosing one of four fun treasure chests gives you an immediate reward that can double, triple, or even quadruple what you were just winning from the last payline.
One downside to Aladdin's Treasure is that the sandy background doesn't reflect the story most people envision. At the very least, 777igt could have included the Cave of Wonders in the background since they've taken this direction.
But apart from the unremarkable backdrop, Aladdin's Treasure is a high-quality slot that will be very attractive to devotees of the Disney movie.
