Big Shot Slot Machine Overview
Atmosphere / Background
Above the reels, you’ll see numerous skyscrapers at nighttime. The background
also features purple stars and flashes sprinkled throughout the city, and purple
haze covering the bottom of the screen.
While we’re not fans of the endless purple, the background as a whole looks
good due to the skyscrapers and stars.
The game title and jackpot displays at the top are encased by lights, which
add to the star studded feel.
Music and Sound Effects
The music sounds like it could be playing at a fashion show or luxury store
on Beverly Hills’ Rodeo Drive.
While 777igt has a problem with picking mismatching music, but they nailed
this tune since it perfectly reflects the theme.
Sound effects include: a voice announcing big wins and free spins, gold coins
bouncing off the reels, and dreamy and magical sounds following wins.
We have yet to play a 777igt slot that doesn’t have the exact same sound
effects, meaning Big Shot scores poorly in this area.
Animations
Big Shot doesn’t get any more original with the animations because these are
also the same variety found in other 777igt games. But the positive thing is
that the generic animations blend well with the power and wealth theme.
Animations include: coins falling into your Credits section, symbols moving
sideways or back and forth after wins, and gold coins stacking up when you form
Big Wins.
Big Shot Pay Table and Graphics
Below are the 15 symbols in this game along with their respective payouts:
Big Shot Icon Mega Jackpot
The game icon pays the Mega Jackpot when landing
5 times in an active pay line.
Model Leaning on a Present Minor Jackpot
Posing on an oversized present and
wearing knee high boots, this blonde triggers the Minor Jackpot when appearing 5
times in a pay line.
White haired Woman in Blazer Mini Jackpot
With dyed white hair and a
blazer, this stylish woman pays the Mini Jackpot when forming a win with 5
symbols.
Clapboard Wild
Suggesting that this slot has a Hollywood element to it, the
clapboard substitutes for all other symbols to form winning combinations. It
also pays 150 coins when forming a 5 symbol win itself.
Lamborghini
Costing $200,000 Gallardo model these days, the blue
Lamborghini pays 200 coins for 5 symbols, 40 for 4, and 12 for 3.
Model w / Classic Car
Leaning against a classic car in an all white
setting, this model pays 150 coins for 5 symbols, 40 for 4, and 12 for 3.
Corvette
While you can get a low end corvette for $55,000, we’re assuming
that this is a more expensive model like an Audi R8 ($163k) or Acura NSX
($156k). The corvette delivers 120 coins for 5 symbols, 30 for 4, and 12 for 3.
A
Offering the most among letters, the A pays 100 coins for 5 symbols, 30
for 4, and 10 for 3.
K
The K delivers 80 coins for 5 symbols, 25 for 4, and 10 for 3.
Q
The Q offers 60 coins for 5 symbols, 25 for 4, and 10 for 3.
J, 10
These symbols both pay 50 coins for 5 symbols, 20 for 4, and 10 for
3.
Two Models Scatter
Posing next to each other on a sparkling runway, these
blonde and brunette models offer scatter payouts worth 100x for 5 symbols, 30x
for 4 symbols, or 5x for 3 symbols your triggering bet.
Blonde Woman in Red Dress Free Spins
Looking like the second coming of
Marilyn Monroe in her red dress, this woman triggers free spins when appearing 3
or more times anywhere on the reels.
Four Girls Bonus
Staring at the screen with hearts floating up, these woman
trigger a second screen bonus when landing 3 or more times.
Symbol Graphics
One of 777igt’s calling cards involves creating some of the most detailed
symbols in the gaming industry. Big Shot doesn’t represent their best effort in
this regard, but the symbols still look good.
Our favorites include the woman w / white hair, Lamborghini, Corvette, two
models, and blonde in a red dress.
These symbols are designed in cartoon fashion to keep the fun involved, and
they look solid in comparison to other slots. But they’re just not as crisp as
what we’re used to seeing from 777igt.
Big Shot Slot Bonus Features
Big Shot shares the same features as other 777igt slot machines, including
free spins, a second screen bonus, and three progressive jackpots. Here’s a
closer look at each of these features.
Free Spins
The Marilyn Monroe lookalike triggers free games, and you get 15 free spins
for 5 symbols, 10 for 4, and 5 for 3.
A box appears in the bottom right hand corner to display how many spins you
have remaining along with your total win.
Unfortunately, you don’t get any multipliers, special symbols, or new music
during the free games.
Bonus Round
When you trigger the bonus with three of more 4 girl symbols, you’ll be taken
to a new screen with a clapboard and movie film.
The film has pictures of fictional movie stars, and you click the clapboard
to start rolling the footage. Your bonus prize depends upon which two stars the
film stops on.
Considering that there’s no key / legend telling you how much each movie star
pays, this bonus feels random. Furthermore, we don’t like how the game pressures
you into clicking the clapboard immediately.
Despite these drawbacks, it’s always nice to have a second screen bonus to
play.
3 Jackpots
One treat to any 777igt game is playing for three of the largest progressive
jackpots in online gaming.
At the time of this writing, the Mega Jackpot is worth $1,234,914, the Minor
Jackpot is worth $622,457, and the Mini Jackpot sits $411,638.
As you can see, even the lowest jackpot is worth more than the progressive
jackpot offered in most slots.
Betting Options
Pay lines can be changed from 10 100 in increments of 10, while coin size can
be adjusted from $0.01 to $1.00. This makes the minimum bet worth one cent, and
the max worth $100.00 per spin.
The biggest problem with the wagering options is changing either the pay
lines or coin size with the minus button. You have to directly click the button,
and sometimes it still doesn’t register.
Other Options
You can quickly halt the reels by clicking Stop after they start. This is the
fastest way to play if you’re trying to maximize your chances of triggering a
jackpot or bonus.
Auto spin allows you to keep the reels automatically spinning for 10, 20, 30,
40, 50, or infinity spins.
One more option involves turning the volume down or off with the speaker
button in the upper left hand corner.
Win Frequency
Big Shot offers medium win frequency for a 100 pay line slot machine.
We won plenty of payouts thanks to the combination of clapboard wild and
letters / numbers.
As with other 77igt slots, we triggered numerous scatter payouts and free
spins. Given that the letters and numbers don’t amount to many winnings, we
needed these free games and scatter prizes.
Playing Big Shot for around 300 spins, we triggered the bonus round four
times, which is above average for this sample size.
Despite the large volume of bonuses, we lost $3 by the time our session
ended.
Game Rules
The main rules for Big Shot are listed below:
- Payouts form in active payouts going left to right, starting with the
leftmost reel.
- Exceptions include bonus and free spin symbols, which trigger rewards
from anywhere on the reels.
- Jackpots are only paid when you get 5 respective symbols in an active
line.
- Wins are multiplied by the triggering line stake. If you bet $1 per line
and win 100 coins, your payout will be $100.00.
- Free games are played at the triggering coin size and number of pay
lines.
Comparison to Similar Slot Machines
One game that we want to compare to Big Shot is Big Show because the latter
is a sequel made by the same company.
The other game that we’ll offer a comparison to is Realtime Gaming’s High
Fashion, which has a similar feel.
777igt’s Big Show
One thing that you’ll notice upon opening this 5 reel, 100 pay line game is
how it uses the same music as Big Shot.
Both slot machines also offer free spins, three jackpots, and a second screen
bonus. But beyond these familiar elements, many other aspects are different.
First off, Big Show has higher quality graphics and background. The
background features a giant stage, models standing on each side, and pictures of
different women lining the walls.
While Big Shot has nice symbols, the ones in this game are far more detailed
and tell the story of an international star who jets around the world.
Symbols include: a cruise ship, plane, showroom car, VIP logo, cash, and two
models.
The two models trigger a second screen bonus, which cycles through shadowy
figures onstage until revealing two stars along with your bonus prize. While
offering a nice display, this bonus left us just as confused as Big Shot.
All in All, Big Show offers better graphics, animations, and atmosphere than
Big Shot, making it the superior game.
Realtime Gaming’s High Fashion
Centering on glamour and fashion, this 5 reel, 25 pay line game has a similar
feel to Big Shot.
High Fashion has an up tempo beat along with the models doing poses when they
help form winning payouts. You’ll also hear cameras snapping pictures after
wins.
While High Fashion outdoes Big Shot in the animations and sound effects
departments, it doesn’t look as good from a visual perspective. The 3D graphics
are averaged by today’s standards and don’t match the quality of Big Shot.
High Fashion has a few nice features, including free spins, multipliers,
scatter payouts, and a Major and Minor Jackpot. But note that the Major Jackpot
is only worth $3,794 at the time of this writing.
In summary, this is a decent slot that will appeal to fans of the modeling
world. But we like Big Shot better due to its superior graphics, second screen
bonus, and quality background.
Conclusion
Our favorite aspects of Big Shot include the music, features, characters, and
overall feel of the game.
Speaking of the feel, this is created by a hip, modern beat that pairs well
with the skyscrapers and purple stars in the background.
Features include three progressive jackpots, free spins, and a second screen
bonus. While not as good as some of the other 777igt bonuses we’ve tried, it’s
still fun to play a second screen game.
The symbols, which range from models to sports cars, also do a good job of
reflecting the theme.
The downsides to this slot are the same ones we’ve seen in other 777igt
games, including stock animations and sound effects.
Despite these drawbacks, Big Shot has enough good qualities to make it worth
playing for 30 minutes to an hour.
