Captain’s Treasure is a sea-faring 5 reel and 9 pay-line slot which was produced by Playtech in 2009. The slot game has a pirate theme with a purple-bearded Captain as the game’s main character, the other symbols are made up of pirate imagery like a ship wheel and treasure chests.
The graphics are simple but are done in an eye-popping cartoon style which is very appealing. The reels have a very basic setup, making it easy to recognize your wins and losses and make your bets accordingly.

The card value symbols in Captain’s Treasure are, as sual, the lowest value symbols. 9 and 10 icons are the lowest playing symbols and a maximum combination of 5 of a kind will pay out a maximum of 100 coins. Jack and Queen symbols are one notch above with a max payout of 200 coins for the same combination. The King symbol will reward players with a maximum of 300 and the Ace pays out 500.
The picture symbols pay out slightly more in winning combinations. Both the Wheel and the Anchor will reward players with a maximum of 1000 coins for 5 of a kind. The map takes things to the next level by paying out 2500 coins for landing 5 in a row. The Clashing Cutlasses is the best paying symbol in the game and pays out the maximum amount of 5000 coins.
The Scatter symbol in this game is the Treasure Chest and landing just two more anywhere on the reels activates it. They do not have to be on the same pay-line but must follow a consecutive pattern. The amount of Treasure Chests will determine the amount your total winnings will be multiplied by as your reward. 5 Treasure Chest symbols will award the maximum award of 100x.
One special symbol has yet to be discussed and that is the Wild. The Wild in this game is the Captain and can replace all the other standard symbols. What is special about this particular Wild is that it can also replace the Scatter which is quite unusual and leads to major winning possibilities.

Playtech has put a quirky twist on the usual pirate theme. The imagery used is typical of a pirate theme but the style of the cartoon graphics is somewhat fresh and the soundtrack is crisp. The game is simple and easy to play and the Wild and Scatter certainly liven up the otherwise predictable game-play.
It may seem as though the lack of bonuses reduce winning potential but the standard symbols have reasonably high payouts to make up for it, and let’s not forget about the potentially life-changing Dollar Ball jackpot.
