What’s a Chuzzle?
Chuzzles are the furry creatures featured in both the
original game and the slot machine adaptation. In the PC
version, rows of these creatures were presented on a 6×6 board,
and it was the player’s goal to drag rows and columns in order
to create groups with matching colors. Once this happened, the
matching Chuzzles would disappear and make room for new
fuzzballs to fall onto the board.
Rules of Chuzzle Slots
When you play this slot, there are a number of basic rules
that you should be familiar with. These are taken directly from
the game’s screen, so you can count on them to apply at any
online casino.
- The player must activate from 1 to 20 lines.
- Any line win is multiplied by the amount of the player’s
wager on the winning line.
- With the exception of the Scatter symbol, all line wins
pay from left to right.
- All plays are voided in the case of a game malfunction.
- Scatter wins are paid alongside reel wins. All of the
featured game symbols are Scatters.
- If multiple wins occur on a line, only the highest
amount is paid.
- During a single game, it’s possible to win multiple
Scatters. If two wins involve the same type of Scatter, then
only the highest amount is paid.
- If wins occur on multiple lines, all prizes are added
together to determine the payout.
Chuzzle Game Panel
Above and below the main screen of a slot, you’ll find
various options that can be clicked on. If you’re the type of
player who likes to know everything possible about a game, then
this section should be helpful.
Bet
This field displays the current bet the player is making.
This can be adjusted before each spin by clicking on the plus
and minus buttons. The minimum coins size is 0.01, while the
maximum is 10.00.
Lines
This displays the number of paylines that are activated
during the spin, which ranges from 1 to 20. Given the bet ranges
mentioned in the previous entry, this means the player can play
the game for as little as 0.01 or as much as 200.
Spin
This green button causes a new round of play to begin. The
button is somewhat improperly labeled, however, as the version
of the game I’m familiar with doesn’t actually include spinning
reels. The symbols drop from the top of the screen, but I guess
calling it “spin” still gets the point across.
Paytable
If you want to know the various payouts, you can see them by
clicking on this red button. I’ve listed all these values in one
of the following sections, so you don’t need to bother with this
option.
Total Stake
Listed on the top left of the screen, this field displays the
total amount of money that the player is betting on the current
spin.
Win
If the player is lucky enough to get a winning spin, the
amount of his/her payout is displayed in this field in the upper
right of the screen.
Chuzzle Pay Table
The following section details the basic pay table for the
Chuzzle slot machine from Blueprint Gaming. Before you begin
play, make sure you’re familiar with these various payout
options. Also keep in mind that the winning amounts listed below
are multiplied by the customer’s wager to determine the actual
cash prize.
Wild
This red, yellow, and blue Chuzzle acts as the
game’s wild symbol, substituting for all symbols except the
Scatter and Doubles Win. Pays 10 for two matches, 200 for
three, 2,000 for four, and 10,000 for five.
Blue and Red Chuzzles
Both of these fuzzy creatures
feature the same prize amount. Pays 2 for two matches, 25
for three, 100 for four, and 750 for five.
Yellow Chuzzles
Featuring big eyes and a furry
exterior, this adorable Chuzzle pays 2 for two, 15 for
three, 100 for four, and 400 for five.
Ace
This top value in a deck of playing cards is
frequently used in slot machines as a generic symbol. Pays
10 for three, 75 for four, and 250 for five. Despite the
otherwise colorful theme of the game, this symbol is colored
grey for some odd reason.
King
The second-highest symbol in a poker deck, this
generic slots symbol is colored purple and pays 10 for
three, 50 for four, and 150 for five.
Queen
This poker value has been given a green hue for
the game. It pays 5 for three matches, 50 for four, and 100
for five.
Jack, 10, and 9
Just like the previous three entries,
all of these symbols appear in decks of cards and are used
in slots as generic icons. In this game, the jack is colored
blue, the ten is orange, and the nine is red. Despite their
difference in color, they all offer 5 for three matches, 25
for four, and 100 for five.
Multi Chuzzle Scatter
This icon depicts a mass of
Chuzzles, which immediately reminded me of the Star Trek
episode “The Trouble with Tribbles.” If three to five of
these symbols turn up on the reels at the same time, then
the Chuzzle Reaction bonus round is activated.
Dancing Chuzzle Scatter
This icon depicts a number of
Chuzzles getting funky on the dance floor. If three to five
of these appear on the reels simultaneously, then the
Chuzzle Disco bonus round is activated.
Blue Bottle Scatter
This icon looks like a large blue
bottle with a cork in the top. If three to five of them show
up on the reels at the same time, then the Pick a Win bonus
round is activated. The bottle hearkens back to the original
game, where the eyes of matching Chuzzles would be collected
in order to complete a round of play.
Chuzzle Bonus Rounds
Chuzzle slots feature three bonus rounds, and these extra
methods of winning are one of the primary selling points of
Blueprint Gaming titles. Below, we’ll take an in-depth look at
each one.
Pick a Win
This bonus is triggered when three or more bottle icons
appear on the screen. Once this occurs, the player is presented
with a number of bottles and asked to choose one. A multiplier
is hidden in the bottle, and the chosen amount is applied to the
total wager in order to determine the payout.
Chuzzle Disco
When three or more dancing Chuzzle symbols appear on the
screen simultaneously, this bonus is triggered. The player is
awarded free spins based on the number of symbols: 15 for three,
25 for four, and 50 for five. The free spins are resolved
immediately, and all Scatter symbols are eligible to be won
during this phase. Free spins may also be retriggered, and the
round continues until all complimentary spins have been used.
Once the round concludes, the player is presented with four
Chuzzles and asked to select one. This reveals a multiplier,
which is then added to the free spin winnings to determine the
overall bonus payout.
Chuzzle Reaction
When three or more of the appropriate Scatter symbols appear,
this bonus round is activated. Chuzzles immediately drop down
onto the screen, and getting three or more matches horizontally
or vertically (but not diagonally) awards a win. Winning symbols
are highlighted just prior to exploding, and then additional
symbols drop down to fill the void. The round continues until no
more winning combinations are generated on the screen.
The winning combinations award a multiple that’s applied to
the player’s total bet from the start of the spin. Multipliers
differ depending on the color of the Chuzzle, and each is listed
below:
- Red: 5x for three, 8x for four, and 10x for five
- Blue: 4x for three, 6x for four, and 8x for five
- Yellow: 3x for three, 5x for four, and 6x for five
- Purple: 2x for three, 4x for four, and 5x for five
- Orange: 2x for three, 3x for four, and 4x for five
- Green: 1x for three, 2x for four, and 3x for five
- Blue: 1x for three, 2x for four, and 3x for five
- White: 1x for three, 2x for four, and 3x for five
Summary
Fans of the original puzzle game should get a kick out of the
Chuzzle slots from Blueprint Gaming. The jackpot pays 10,000
coins, which amounts to $2 million if the top bet of $200 is
made. In addition to this lucrative payout, there are a number
of bonus rounds with additional ways to earn free spins and cash
prizes. And even if you lose, you’ll get to spend some time with
the adorable and colorful Chuzzles.
