Dragon Eye Slot Machine Overview
Atmosphere / Background
The background on the game isn’t really what you’d expect with a game that
uses dragons as its theme. The background is primarily blue in color and almost
looks like denim fabric. This is one of the things that we really didn’t
understand about the game. There are so many different ways to go with
backgrounds that this would’ve been the last choice for us as a designer.
However, the lack of background makes the reels stand out more and draws all
your attention there, which is where it should be. The reels are set up as five
separate rectangles instead of being framed in like in many other games. The
reels are just free floating and separated from each other by two blue orbs.
The symbols fall into the reels and look as though they could pass for
stickers on a sticker sheet. Each symbol is shaped in a square with the picture
inside. The buttons used to operate the game are larger versions of the blue
orbs seen in the game. The pay lines aren’t displayed numerically on the reels
like you find in most other games. You’ll find a long rectangle on either side
of the reels that shows how many lines are available.
Blue was the theme of the game and while we generally like blue it does seem
to be a little bit much when used in every aspect of the design. If they
would’ve added in a few extra colors to the background and reels atmosphere we
think the game would’ve been more appealing.
Music and Sound Effects
One of our favorite parts of this game is the soundtrack that’s used. Most of
the time win we are playing a game we generally can’t stand the background music
of the slots and mute them almost instantly. Dragon Eye has a track that fits
the theme of the game perfectly and isn’t overpowering at all.
You might find yourself getting more into the game as the track builds. The
track reminds us of a hero going into battle and we aren’t sure if he’s going to
make it out alive. We think this is why we found the music to be a great
representation of the game.
The soundtrack is made up of what sounds like a full orchestra; as the music
plays the intensity builds as though you’re walking into a fight with the dragon
and doom is headed your way. Very rarely to you find a game you don’t want to
mute the background sounds but with this game you just don’t have to.
The reels don’t really have much of a spinning sound associated with them.
You hear a little bit of something when the symbols stop in place but not much
else. Of course when you score a win you’re notified by the sound of money being
added to your bank and a chime that goes off as the symbols are highlighted.
Animations
Animations are found at different levels of the game. The animations you see
the most of are the ones associated with the symbols. These animations mostly
appear when a symbol is a part of a winning combination. Some of the symbols
like those that represent some of the special features have animations any time
they appear on the reels. For example, most of the symbols will pulse only when
they appear as being a part of a winning combination but those that can trigger
the jackpots pulse as soon as they appear in hopes that others of their kind
appear.
Other animations only appear when you trigger free spins or the bonus game.
When you trigger these special features a huge announcement comes across the
reels to let you know what you’ve won. Also, when you score big wins a Big Win
announcement comes across the screen. These animations are basic with little
other fanfare than a few small fireworks going off.
In our opinion the best animation is the one of the coins bouncing right into
your bank. Who doesn’t love to see money being added to their bank and 777igt
chose a great way to add to the excitement of getting a win.

Symbol Graphics
Dragon Eye seems to be an older game so the symbols and graphics in the game
are a little less exciting than in other games you find on the market today.
This is one of the reasons we liked the game so much. You don’t get sidetracked
with all the extra stuff going on when you get an older game, just a
well-designed game that is focused on the player and the game experience.
Some of the symbols could’ve had a little more detail and been drawn better
but other than that we really enjoyed all the different dragons that are
represented in this game. We don’t know much about dragons but for those who
find them fascinating the ones used as symbols would probably be a letdown.
Dragon Eye Slot Extra Feature
777igt never lets us down when it comes to special features. This game
doesn’t venture away from what has become a group of features that you can
always count on when playing a game designed by 777igt designers. Who doesn’t
want a chance to win a huge jackpot while still being able to trigger free spins
and bonus games at any time?
The jackpots come in three different sizes.
Mega Jackpot
Gives the biggest pay out of the game. You must get 5 of the
Plasma ball symbols to trigger this big win. This jackpot can only be won if you
meet these guidelines.
Minor Jackpot
You have to get 5 of the scary dragon symbol. This jackpot
won’t have as big a payout as the Mega but it’s still a good chunk of change.
Mini Jackpot
This jackpot can be won when you get 5 of the dragon’s eye
symbols on the reels at the same time. This might be the smallest of the
jackpots available but at a minimum of 30,000 we wouldn’t be disappointed
The wild symbol which comes in the form of a blue and black dragon that looks
as though it’s about to play a trick on you is the one to watch for. This symbol
will replace any of the regular symbols to make a winning combination. When this
symbol is used to complete a combination it takes the place of the highest
paying symbol to increase your win amount.
The free spins feature for this game comes in the form of a purple dragon
that reminds us very much of the basilisk from the Harry Potter films. If you
get 3 or more of these symbols anywhere on the reels you trigger the free spins.
You receive an allotted amount of spins based on the number of symbols on the
reels. You’ll be awarded between 5 and 15 free spins.
This game like most others by this designer has a bonus game feature that can
be triggered. You trigger this game when you get three or more of the yellow
fire breathing dragon symbols anywhere on the reels. When you trigger this game
you’re taken to a new screen where you get the chance to really rack up some
money. On the new screen there are a bunch of blue orbs that are connected by a
copper ribbon. All you have to do is click on the right orbs and you can win a
great deal of money.
The game continues as long as when you click on the blue orb they reveal a
dragon eye. The best part about this mini game is that even if the first orb you
pick isn’t a dragon’s eye you still get a reward for making it to the bonus
game, but your game is over.
All these features combined give the game a great appeal and keep you coming
back for more and more fun.
Betting Options
Dragon Eye offers you 50 pay lines. With this many unfixed pay lines you
might find it difficult to not want to make changes to see if it helps you
increase your winning ability. We recommend that you don’t do that.
Like with all games that have unfixed pay lines you should always play the
lines that are available. Playing all 50 lines guarantees you a better chance at
getting winning combinations. When you start messing with the number of pay
lines you put yourself at risk of missing wins because they fall on deselected
lines.
This game offers you the ability to change the value of your bet after each
spin. The range of betting is set from .01 to $1.20 per spin.
These options give the game a wider appeal to the player. Even those who hate
to lose money on slots can find a happy medium with this game.
Game Rules
Dragon’s game rules are in line with most other 5 reel slot machines. Below
are the main rules:
- Most wins are formed from right to left, beginning with the leftmost
reel.
- If two or more wins are formed in the same line, only the highest payout
is awarded.
- Any misuse or malfunction will abort the game and everything will be
reset to default.
- The wild card cannot start free spins; you must get three or more
scatter symbols to receive free spins.
- Scatter symbols will trigger free spins from anywhere on the reels.
- Bonus game will be triggered when three or more bonus symbols appear
normal win line from left to right.
- The wild will sub for all symbols except the scatter and bonus symbols.
- The wild and scatter symbols also have a payout amount when they appear
on a win line.
- Jackpots can only be won when the designated symbol is found on the
reels 5 times.
Conclusion
Dragon Eye is a game that for once all the features work well together and
are beneficial to you. Although the background could use some work the game
itself makes up for it.
Not only does the game have an understated background but some of the symbols
could have really used a little bit more detail. We found that some of the
symbols were just a little understated. This may be because Dragon Eye seems to
be an older game and more focused on the winning chances for the player.
We hope that after reading this review you want to give Dragon Eye a try
because you don’t know what you’re missing if you don’t give it a try.
