The Story of Noah’s Ark

Perhaps it’s been years since you’ve been to Sunday school. If that’s the case, then your knowledge of Noah’s ark might be a little hazy. In order to give you a better understanding of what this slot is all about, I’ve broken the tale down into its most essential parts for your convenience. It’s interesting to note that the story of the Great Flood makes it into the holy texts of Jews, Christians, and Muslims alike.

Noah, son of Lamech, was the tenth of the pre-flood Patriarchs. Extremely long lived, he had his sons Shem, Japheth, and Ham when he was 500 years old. When the events of the Great Flood occurred, he had celebrated his 600th birthday.

Due to the wickedness of mankind, God decided to flood and then remake the Earth. Because of Noah’s righteous nature, God warned him of the coming calamity and instructed him to build an ark. Based on the measurements given in the Bible, the structure would have been 450 ft. X 75 ft. X 45 ft.

Noah was told by God to put seven pairs of every kind of clean animal into the ark, as well as one pair of every kind of unclean animal. In addition, Noah was instructed to load every kind of edible food onto the vessel.

Noah and his family got on the ark, along with all the animals of the Earth. Seven days later, God sent a torrential downpour to blanket the planet, and it rained for forty days and forty nights. During this time, all living creatures not on the ark were killed by the flood.

The waters flooded the Earth for 150 days, and the ark eventually came to rest on the mountains of Ararat. Noah repeatedly sent out a dove to test if the ground was dry, and it eventually returned with a plucked olive leaf. When the bird stopped returning, Noah knew that it was safe to leave the ark.

God instructed Noah and his family to depart from the ark, bringing out all the animals in the process. God also established a covenant with Noah that he would never again destroy the Earth by flooding, and he brought forth a rainbow as a sign of this agreement.

Noah planted a vineyard and became the first man to drink wine. Unaware of its effects, he soon became drunk and slept naked in his tent. His son Ham saw him naked and reported this to his two brothers, and the latter covered their father with a garment without setting eyes on him. When Noah awoke, he learned what Ham had done and cursed him.

Noah lived for another 350 years following the events of the Great Flood. When he finally passed away, he was 950 years old.

Game Symbols and Payouts

No matter which slot machine you choose to play, your success or failure always comes down to matching the appropriate symbols on the reels. Some symbols result in huge paydays, while others are more modest. In this section, we’ll look at all the game symbols available on the Noahs Ark slot machine, as well as the payouts that are associated with them.

Keep in mind that all line wins pay from left to right. All line pays are also multiplied by the line bet, so getting a 500 win on a $1 line bet would result in a payout of $500.

It’s also important to note that the game has an innovative Split Symbols feature. Each animal in the game has a single symbol, as well as a symbol that shows two animals of the same type (in keeping with the theme of Noah loading pairs of creatures onto the ark). This creates more matches than usual, and it’s possible to have 10 matching animals on the screen at the same time (for example, five icons with two creatures apiece).

Noah’s Ark Logo

This colorful logo features the ark and a life preserver, and it serves as the game’s wild symbol. It substitutes for all icons except the dove symbols, and it pays double when filling in for one of the other animal icons. It offers 300 credits for three matches, 1,000 for four, and the game’s top payout of 10,000 for five matches.

Lion

Second only to the tiger in terms of size among the big cats, the lion is one of the world’s most recognizable animals. These majestic creatures can live to 20 years of age in captivity, although battles with rival lions often reduce their lifespan in the wild to anywhere from 10 to 14 years. Offers the following payouts on the base game: 10 credits for three matches, 30 for four, 100 for five, 200 for six, 300 for seven, 500 for eight, 1000 for nine, and 2500 for 10.

Hippopotamus

Aggressive and unpredictable, the hippo is one of the world’s largest land mammals, with an average male weighing 3,300 pounds. Offers the following payouts on the base game: 10 credits for three matches, 30 for four, 100 for five, 200 for six, 300 for seven, 500 for eight, 800 for nine, and 1000 for 10.

Elephant

Living up to 70 years in the wild, elephants are the world’s largest land mammal. Male African elephants can reach heights of 13 feet and weight in excess of 15,000 pounds. Offers the following payouts on the base game: 10 credits for three matches, 25 for four, 100 for five, 200 for six, 300 for seven, 500 for eight, 800 for nine, and 1000 for 10.

Camel

Living up to 50 years, the camel is a distinctive animal that’s famous for the single or double hump on its back. Offers the following payouts on the base game: 10 credits for three matches, 25 for four, 100 for five, 200 for six, 300 for seven, 500 for eight, 800 for nine, and 1000 for 10.

Turtle

There are about 300 species of this reptile, and each has some form of tough, protective shell around its body. Offers the following payouts on the base game: 10 credits for three matches, 25 for four, 100 for five, 150 for six, 200 for seven, 500 for eight, 800 for nine, and 1000 for 10.

Dove

These white birds are a symbol of peace, and studies have shown that male and females mate for life. This symbol doesn’t offer any payouts during the base game, but it can be used to trigger the bonus round (more on that in the next section).

Ace

As with most slots, playing card values are often used to round out the list of symbols. In this case, the ace is the most valuable one of these with the following payouts: eight credits for three matches, 20 for four, and 200 for five.

King, Queen, and Jack

These three playing card values all offer the same payouts. They include the following: five credits for three matches, 15 for four, and 100 for five.

Noah’s Ark Slot Bonuses

There’s one additional round that can be unlocked in Noah’s Ark, and it’s known as the Raining Free Spins bonus. You’ll need to get several of the dove symbols in order to access this phase of the game, and here’s what you can expect:

Four Doves

Pays two times total bet.

Five Doves

Triggers the bonus round and awards five free spins.

Six Doves

Triggers the bonus round and awards 10 free spins.

Free spins are played at the same number of lines and line bet as the triggering game. Different reels are used during the bonus, and the free spins feature cannot be re-triggered. The bonus phase continues until either the top award limit is reached or all free spins have been used.

Here’s a rundown of the symbols found during the bonus round, as well as their associated payouts:

Noah’s Ark Logo

This wild symbol pays the same as in the base game, and it offers double value when substituting for all the animal icons. Unlike the base game, however, it substitutes for all symbols (since the dove icons aren’t included during the bonus).

Giraffe

This mammal stands anywhere from 14 to 18 feet tall, and its prehensile tongue measures an average of 18 inches. When part of a winning payline, it provides one of the following payouts: 10 credits for three matches, 30 for four, 100 for five, 200 for six, 300 for seven, 500 for eight, 1000 for nine, and 2500 for 10.

Goat

There are more than 300 distinct breeds of goat on the planet, with an estimated total population in excess of 924 million. When part of a winning payline, it provides one of the following payouts: 10 credits for three matches, 30 for four, 100 for five, 200 for six, 300 for seven, 500 for eight, 800 for nine, and 1000 for 10.

Zebra

Their distinctive stripes have made these animals famous around the world, and they come in three distinct species: plains zebra, mountain zebra, and Grevy’s zebra. When part of a winning payline, it provides one of the following payouts: 10 credits for three matches, 25 for four, 100 for five, 200 for six, 300 for seven, 500 for eight, 800 for nine, and 1000 for 10.

Ostrich

This large bird is flightless, but it also has the fastest land speed of all such animals (up to 43 miles per hour). When part of a winning payline, it provides one of the following payouts: 10 credits for three matches, 25 for four, 100 for five, 200 for six, 300 for seven, 500 for eight, 800 for nine, and 1000 for 10.

Alligator

Able to live for around 100 years, the alligator has been on the planet for over 37 million years. When part of a winning payline, it provides one of the following payouts: 10 credits for three matches, 25 for four, 100 for five, 150 for six, 200 for seven, 500 for eight, 800 for nine, and 1000 for 10.

Ace, King, Queen, and Jack

These playing card symbols offer the same payout as their counterparts in the base game.

Expected Payback

If you deposit $100 into a slot machine, the expected payback indicates, on average, how much money you can expect to get back. This number fluctuates over the short term, but slot designers are able to program a percentage that always proves accurate over the long haul.

In the case of the Noah’s Ark game, the expected payback ranges from 93.04% to 94.93%. The latter is more likely to be encountered after thousands of spins, while the former is more of a short-term figure.

While this might not be as high as you’d like, keep in mind that you’ll also save money by being able to play online. Once you’ve avoided paying for a plane ticket and a hotel room, you’re already ahead of the game.

Conclusion

The Noah’s Ark slot machine from IGT offers a decent level of flexibility for players, as wagers range from $1 per spin up to $900. The maximum jackpot of $100,000 is more than adequate, and the unique theme should provide both hardcore gamblers and devoted Christians with an entertaining option.
